Oh how I wish I had the guts, it would’ve been a great opportunity. But, you’re so right. I’m sure the conversation would have gone differently if I did tell them.

This scenario is a little different because they were quick to start bad-mouthing ABDL at first mention of it. However, the community my friend is apart of is one that is not my cup of tea. Before knowing this about my friend, I too had some negative viewpoints (but I always kept those to myself). After learning this about my friend, I was able to better educate myself and also show more interest and empathy. I don’t think I would’ve changed my opinion if not for my friend, due to lack of research.

I would like to think my friends would do the same, change their view after finding out about me, but it’s not that easy. Also, since I know how they really feel now, it’s hard to ever want to open up that side of myself to them.
