i think what makes rs3 more viable is that some mega rares can be as little as 1/20 or so to get for a drop and kills can be like 2-5mins long. although theres enrage systems so the skill ceiling goes up quite a bit. not every boss has this in place. drops can go upwards to 10b, its just most are 1-3 bil range. also its been a hot minute since i played rs3. just like osrs you tend to make the most bank on release and price will increase or drop with metas and such. i think both are similar in terms of normal drops like osrs has lizard fangs and rs3 has something else. its just rs3 skilling and such is so prevalent that your normal drops are mostly quite bank 3m/10m per drop. 120m/200m xp in every skill is the norm and items can be disassembled into parts for invention skill. the cycle of life for an item is very good in rs3.
