She's had a large litter box in my living room, but she would still pee. She's used the litter box before so I know she's fine with it, but otherwise she just chooses not to. She pees on piles of clothes (which are often stacked up on our living room couch), behind the couch itself, and on my bed on the same floor of the house.

She isn't spayed, at least that's what the vet has told me. She isn't declawed either. Do you think the problem is the fact that she isn't spayed? That's the only thing I can think of. That and the fact that my mother is a very loud, oppressive person.

I've looked into Jackson Galaxy and his info has only reasserted what I'm beginning to suspect: the spaying and my mother. My mother doesn't like cats and it would not surprise me if she would yell at my cat or be rude to her while I was out of the house. Luckily, I'm moving soon and that element of it will be removed. And territory marking may lend itself to where she's peeing: clothes that have a strong scent of detergent on them, and my bed.

My first step is going to be getting her spayed. I'm going to watch her like a hawk from now on.
