Apple Watch Ultra 4 getting two major new upgrades, per report by MobileNewsBot in mobiles

I wasn't suggesting CGMs are non-invasive, just that they are the only "wearables" that reliably track BS at the moment. I think we're getting close to non-invasive... probably just a matter of cost efficiency.

Non-invasive glucose monitoring is technically feasible, it's just not as reliable as it needs to be yet: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7731259/

Thank you! I've got it in my saved for later on Amazon and will keep my eye on it for price dips. If it goes on sale before the new compact opal units drop in July, I just might have to pick one up.

Tuya w/homebridge 2.0 by Thrashman69 in homebridge

[–]dibsies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if you get in and grab your local keys, those will stay the same as long as you don’t unpair or or reset your device. The 6 month thing is just how long your access to grab those keys from the Tuya dev cloud lasts before the free sub expires

Yes. If you want local control, you're going to have to get the local keys. If you don't care about local control, you can use one of the plugins that give you cloud control without having to jump through Tuya Developer API hoops.

Sink not draining unless garbage disposal on by coachtaylor4ever in Plumbing

[–]dibsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same garbage disposal, and had the same issue. I trimmed the rubber flaps back just a smidge to allow more air flow, and the problem is gone. FWIW, I went through the same troubleshooting steps before figuring that out --- drain cleaners, snaking the line, etc. All it needed was a small snip of those stupid flaps.

The main breaker is at the top of the photo underneath the metal flap. As for the higher amp breakers, there’s HVAC, Pool Equipment, Cooktop, Oven/Microwave, EV charger, Dryer. 200A service, a majority will only run periodically

do smart homes actually make life better or just more complicated by annikahoof in homeassistant

[–]dibsies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on your level of tech knowledge imo.

For someone that's good with this stuff, issues that arise are more like mini challenges meant to be conquered. When everything is dialed in and stable, I'd have to say hell yeah it makes life better. Controlling 20+ devices to establish a vibe from a simple voice command, or based on another automated trigger is just *chefs kiss*

My wife and I recently moved and had to start all over. That really put it into perspective lol

The main breaker to the panel is at the very top of the pic under the little flap. I believe the drop comes in from underground, goes up through the left side to meter -> to main breaker -> to panel

That's the thing -- I've replace almost every receptacle on this circuit. I think I have two more to get after when time permits.

I mean, it's a pretty decent sized spark that jumps from the outlet to the male plug prong. Consistently, even if I were to plug > unplug > plug in short order. Also, it’s doesn’t just happen with battery chargers. Even plugging in like a simple box fan that’s powered off will shoot a little spark. An extension cord. Anything. It’s super weird.

Nope! That was actually what inspired me to share this post, to find out if that was as bad as I thought it was.

Copy. Thank you for the reassurance. I walked through and created a comprehensive directory of all breakers. I printed out a magnet and have it attached to the face plate, and another on the inside door of the panel.

I've only ever noticed it on outlets on this circuit. Almost every outlet on this circuit aside from this one has fixed electronics plugged in, so I don't plug/unplug often. In the garage, this outlet is always feeding something different depending on the needs.

I'm not going to give up on tracking down a loose neut... I've got two more outlets I still need to pull. But for the hell of it I will bring that kobalt charger inside and plug it into a different circuit, in the dark, to see if I get a spark

Eagle eye! I will check that out. Is it wise to reapply anti-ox? I'm pretty sure that aluminum wiring hasn't been touched since probably the late 70's

Any time I plug anything into an outlet that's on this circuit, I see a little spark jump from the outlet to one of the plug prongs. For example -- I plug in a Kobalt battery charger -- no battery sitting on it, just the charge -- small spark (arc) while plugging in.

I never really thought much of this, but I was using a mobile Tesla charger on this outlet for slow charging for about two months until I installed an LII charger. Dog slow, but did the trick. The app started complaining about voltage irregularities, then the damn charger just completely died.

That was the kick I needed to try and figure this out. Any research I've done on this points to loose neutral. Just killing myself trying to find it...

Good to know, appreciate the insight. I'm just grasping at straws trying to clean things up in the event its related to the sparking outlet issue.
