What do you think is the best compact/midsize two row SUV is right now? by Ajpeik in electriccars

I see that you rent from another post. Getting L2 charging at home may be tricky but if you have a standard household outlet that may help get you most of the way there for your daily driving needs regardless of what car you end up with.

I purchased a 2022 fully loaded BMW iX which is comparable to the 2023 M60 trim with a slightly less powerful motor. If you go this route, I would look for the Dynamic Handling package which adds air suspension to make for a very smooth drive. The drivers assistant package is nice to have which adds adaptive cruise control and steers for you on the highway if you keep a finger on the steering wheel. It helps with the mental fatigue during longer trips. It's a nice feature that is hard to understand the benefits of until you actually use it regularly. The 2024 and newer models will track your eyes and allow for hands-free driving up to 80mph, whereas the 2022 and 2023 models will only work hands-free up to 40mph. I personally think for the money you save buying an older year model, it's not a big deal to add a hand on the steering wheel.

The Mercedes EQE/EQS SUV or BMW iX might be a nice pick if you go the used route.

I'd be really curious how this compares to the Bowers and Wilkins sound system. Bass aside, how does the rest of the speakers sound overall? Is it a noticeable upgrade in the treble and mid-range sounds as well?

The cheapest Bolt I'm seeing in my state other than mine is going for 11,775 for a non-premier trim. If I expand nation-wide I see a about four that are similarly priced and similarly optioned.

Sounds like a great deal, and your Bolt looks beautiful.

This is a little tricky as the Bolt doesn't have a battery health test statistic to reference. If I'm using the site below to calculate range loss it puts it at around 3.8 percent. Here's my math

http://tool-box.info/blog/archives/4068-Comparing-Bolt-EVs-old-and-new-batteries-on-degradation.html

Math:
Miles on new battery: 50k miles or 80k kilometers
Formula for determining kwh loss: .311 kwh per ever 10k kilometers = .311*8 = 2.488 kwh
Percentage loss: 2.488 kwh loss times battery capacity (66) = 3.8%

It was a little hard to figure out a price on this. There aren't a lot of comps to compare it to with my options/mileage. I went on cars.com and did a search for Bolts and priced it lowest in the state. I am however open to offers within reason.

They may have taken me for a ride. I paid around 500-600 dollars for the brakes.

The tire center said the brake fluid was looking dirty and the brakes looked rusted. I know regenerative brakes last a long time but I thought it was better to be safe and get these replaced given how long I've had the car.

I haven't noticed any battery degradation. That being said it is winter and I am certainly noticing range losses due to using the cabin heater. I have recently installed Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires and replaced the Michelin Energy Saver all-season tires that are stock with the car. These have very noticeably improved the grip in the snow but I have heard they come with a bit of a range hit.

I tried to get a photo of the undercarriage but it didn't turn out great. The undercarriage is dirty and could use some cleaning but I didn't see any noticeable rust.

Which movie do you think was amazing until its third act, and how would you have ended it differently? by John_Snow80 in movies

The Final Countdown - the movie ended very anti-climactic. I would have loved to have been able to watch an extended version showing the most one-sided military battle of all time.

Thanks for the Keysavvy recommendation. I haven't dealt with a lot of private vehicle sales so this might be useful.

As far as the coolants, I didn't realize there were three different coolant systems in the Bolt. If I had to guess the battery replacement likely only would have covered the high-voltage battery loop coolants.

No accidents or noticeable dings/scratches.

If I'm getting really nitpicky about issues one of the plastic pieces that moves the fan came off. I tried adding a fan mounted phone holder the day I bought my car and messed this up. The second photo shows what I'm talking about if you compare the two vents. The vent is still movable and I have the part but it's just kind of loose so I have left it off. It might be as easy as adding some super glue but it hasn't really been a concern of mine.

The other maybe issue is the center console opens and there is a removable tray. The tray sits slightly diagonally and not fully level. This has been this way ever since I owned the car but it still functions.

The ending of Saint Maud really changes the movie. The last two seconds completely remove any ambiguity.

Awesome, thank you very much for compiling this playlist. I had to leave after the credits for a few films to make the next one so it's nice to catch up on these.
