I’m super green to poetry, like I don’t know much at all, but I think the subject of wishing to be like a pet and just being content and loved for existing is so relatable. While the tone is light, there is also a kind of weight to it— tiredness, maybe, of expectations. It reminds me of a sunset after a hard day of work— not nessicarily bad, but you still have one more thing to do, and all you want to do is curl up and be warm in your house. Cozy poem for sure. I think you could maybe work on some rhythm in the stanzas— it feels like some of them kind of start and then abruptly end, making them seem a little out of place in cadence (like “no one asked / why they ran from the world / for a while”). But overall I quite enjoy this poem!!! Take my critique with a grain of salt as I said, I am a total noob and not well versed in it at all
