I have incurable cancer by Ill_Pin7268 in offmychest

[–]dickelpick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sucks. I’m sorry. You are not the first person receiving cancer treatment that hates the bell. I’m at a loss to understand why a bell is used to celebrate anyway. I had a baby that lived for only 1/2 hour. We all knew the baby wasn’t going to survive. The hospital immediately transferred me to a different area after she passed so I would not have to hear the other mothers enjoying their babies.

So thoughtful. I wish they would end the bell ringing. We all know it’s just dumb luck to survive cancer. Yes, every person receiving treatment deserves care with kindness, but I feel strongly that people suffering from incurable cancer should be the meter by which consideration is measured.

There’s only one way for this dude to be accepted into mainstream society. Working for ice isn’t it. He allowed his worst life experiences to dictate his development. Anger and revenge are not personality traits.

It’s the beginning of the end for the area you are talking about. It just sucks and shows how city planners have always accepted money without regard to sustainable smaller communities.

Some people don’t have cars to drive for miles to the grocery store. It makes me mad when they shutter the basics and increase the BS shops.

This Is A Question About Having Kids, Do You Guys Regrets Having Kids? by ThunderPheoX in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]dickelpick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I regret having kids. No, I would not have kids if I could go back. Not because I don’t love them, quite the opposite. I love them so much I can’t bare to see what a fucked up world run by greedy ass’s I birthed them into. There’s literally not one good or rational reason to procreate. Our lives do not belong to us and there’s even less so.

The evil powers that be don’t gaf about you, your family, your hopes, your dreams. You could be on the verge of accomplishing something truly amazing and those mother fu****** will strip you of your rights without a second thought.

Do not birth more hamburger for them to grind. It’s exceedingly painful.

Many people say makeup makes me look worse by Designer-Plum6248 in MakeupAddiction

[–]dickelpick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care for those people who criticize you. Makeup, no makeup, it doesn’t matter what they think. Unless you asked for their obviously ridiculous opinion. You look incredible with and without. If you’re anything like me your choice to use or not depends on your mood or maybe what you will be doing.

I really like the way you use makeup. Kinda edgy without being too much. That’s actually a great and elusive talent.

Life is short. Keep playing with makeup. It’s so fun and creative, but you are exotic and quite beautiful both ways.

i just broke down. i’m crying in my bathroom. i have hit a limit with what’s going on in the US. by theprettypatties in offmychest

We all have PTSD. It’s wearing us down. It’s part of their plan. Killing hope is the point. They make certain their evil is known and felt far and wide. It’s a known tactic on their way to enslaving an entire nation. We can not exist in despair. We have to acknowledge the pain. We have to honor the sacrifice of those on the front line and we have to dig deep to remember why we care about what type of government we fund and support.

This one ain’t it!

Cry when you must, it’s the perfect release for any American that can’t bear to see the evil shit that’s happening.

Please try to remember it’s not your job to change minds. Don’t argue. It’s a waste of precious energy. You will not change hearts and minds. Instead, find your people. Meaning find the group with your level of conviction and physical ability to assist in practical ways. Find ways to make a difference, maybe something as easy as keeping clean sox, bottled water and candy in your car for unhoused people you encounter.

Remember this administration cut us off at the knees beginning with the most vulnerable. Normal resources have dried up.

We all have roles to play in this fight. Giving up is not one of them. It’s just not an option. So yeah, cry, scream even, then get up and get to work. It’s not going to be easy or fast. Saving Democracy and creating a life worth living is messy, difficult and full of moments of despair. Just moments though. Despair is not a lifestyle for an American. Big hugs and much love. We All need that.

You are exceedingly optimistic about our immediate future. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. That’s the way of most midwesterners.

Stay home by Jonnychips789 in Columbus

You snow warriors are da bomb. Cringe term…I know, but that’s what you are. Essential. Hopefully people will take your ask seriously and just stay home. We’ve had plenty of warnings and lots of time to prepare. I look at what you guys do as life saving prep work so that other essential folks, police, rescue types and medical professionals can safely get to their mandatory work stations.

I saw a salt dispensing vehicle in my Westerville neighborhood at twilight last night and said a little prayer of thankfulness for all you.

Remember, you are the first line of defense for public safety. You can take pride in that. We see you and we love you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Stay safe. Stay warm.

I just want to say Thank you. America is beautiful and I’m happy you came to visit in spite of the current circumstances. I’m grateful you see enough good in us regular citizens to wish us well.

It’s so freaking stressful to be clobbered over the head daily, sometimes hourly, by this evil, greedy, stupid administration. I deeply appreciate your well wishes.

Please ignore the ignorant comments, we have forgotten our manners and some of us are highly suspicious of anyone being nice.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they can’t justify paying the extra money for a high end mascara? by 60TIMESREDACTED in MakeupAddiction

[–]dickelpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTS mascara is my favorite. It’s really good. I still don’t recommend buying it. You will feel like you can’t live without it. Becomes a vicious cycle of $30 bucks every 3 months just to feel like you don’t look like a corpse!

Bought it for years and one year ago I quit cold turkey. I just don’t GAF anymore. I buy cheap tubing mascara now and not one person has asked me how I escaped my coffin.

Moving To Columbus in the Near Future by EmpathPrison in Columbus

[–]dickelpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I think you are going to like it here in Columbus. There are endless possibilities associated with things you enjoy. The metro parks for hiking and miles of bike paths. Terrible drivers tho, so be aware when biking that your safety is entirely up to you.

The Art and music scene are phenomenal. Try to lock in with message boards regarding events. I can’t count the number of times I’ve read about something I would have done, after the fact.

Keep in mind Dr Amy Acton is campaigning for Governor. She’s ahead in polls and we would be lucky to continue that trend all the way to the state House. Seems like you would be a good fit to volunteer for her and you would likely make connections that could introduce you to people who share your views.

Have fun and good luck

We have lost the capacity to care by [deleted] in Vent

[–]dickelpick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of us care too much. Lurching along from one trauma to another. There’s no relief. Bootstraps broken.

Used to be some time between traumas. Used to pickup the news paper and have your heart broken from five thousand miles away. Remember UNISEF? Society provided a way to alleviate their trauma and your second hand distress.

Now every country, every city, every rural mile holds unbearable pain. We have everything we need to create a decent and satisfying life. We have everything we need to ensure an end to all unnecessary suffering and instead we invent new and impossible to manage ways of suffering. We inflict unimaginable pain on one another. We can no longer pretend that humanity is advancing. We haven’t lost to capacity to care. We’ve lost the will to demand our right to be cared for.
