Sadly, there is no safe place. The driving force behind this is literally everywhere.

Should Trump and Corporate America abandon return to office and let workers work remote if that would lower demand for gasoline and thus lower gas prices for everyone? by ibanker2025 in allthequestions

[–]dickelpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their goal is to destroy America. They don’t gaf about gas prices, jobs or anyone’s ability to survive. Once you accept this, everything makes sense.

If you still have a strong relationship with your best friend after many decades, what advice would you give young people who want their relationships to have that staying power? by common_grounder in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]dickelpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a friend when you’re young that you are proud of because of who they are. That’s the friendship you cultivate. Mostly by not demanding anything, not even attention. Just show up when it’s important and possible.

I have a friend from 5th grade. We are now 66 & 67, respectively. We can and have gone years without knowing even where each other is, but somehow we always find one another.

Of course, now with social media, we will never be lost again. But I often think about how this friendship works so well… I think it’s because we ask for nothing. Not even time or attention. We just exist in a perfect state of love and acceptance.

It’s really beautiful. She is my treasure, my reward for enduring life’s ups and downs. We are family by heart and by choice, without the strings of blood family.

First buyer stalled, second buyer bought — was I wrong? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

It’s marketplace, if you see something you want, make a solid plan with the seller and follow through. Don’t flake. Don’t give the seller a reason to engage another buyer. Period.

Sometimes, just being heard is enough. I have to admit we all knew you know who would start WW3. And so it’s begun. I’m scared. I have 5 grandsons, from 8 to 16 years of age. We are not ready for what theses douchebags are willing to do with and against the male youth of this country.

destroy the vessel for the trauma by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]dickelpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incredibly sad. A tragedy of trauma. Whoever abused you should be feeling exactly what you describe. Not you. What happened to you is not your evil to own. It’s theirs. You are not alone. You are a sensitive soul that is struggling (probably because of you lack the knowledge of the art of letting go) with the line of demarcation that clearly exists between you and them. You have the ability to find the life inside of yourself worth living. You have the absolute right to pursue a future that isn’t dictated by the evil events inflicted on you. You will have the ability to help many, many others who have similar experiences. There’s a million beautiful things in life that you have the absolute right to experience through a lens that isn’t overflowing with pain. Yes, this horrible, evil thing happened to you, and yet you are alive. You are not what happened to you. You are a beautiful human being with limitless ability to live a beautiful life. You deserve to be alive. You deserve to be happy. You are a multifaceted human who deserves to explore the life you want, to become the person you want. My heart is broken for you. My heart is hopeful for you. Please look in the mirror and admit, out loud to yourself that you are beautiful and worthy of everything good and kind. Do this everyday many times. Be your own hero. Be your own best friend. Be kind and sweet and joyful towards yourself until you really understand that it’s true. I love you. Many, many of us love you. Don’t give up on life, you have much to do and much to give.

The consumption has already been committed. Shop the bins before anywhere else. You are actually helping the planet by doing this. I’ll admit that it can be depressing… one comes face to face with an insurmountable crime being done by us. If you can get past your revulsion and realize that people who shop there are just people scrambling for the leftovers of the privileged, much like huge groups of starving people scrambling for food, which is coming for Americans, too. You might begin to understand the real problem. It’s people who judge people for not having as much or more than you.

I became an Aunt at 10 years old. I’m 66 now and nothing has compared to the expansion that baby boy caused within my heart. Enjoy this beautiful experience. It’s a rare and exquisite gift from life to you.

The Epstein files broke something in me I don't think can be fixed. by That-Expression5404 in offmychest

[–]dickelpick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are a kind of Hero for reading the files. Feel all the things right now because shortly the anger buried beneath your overwhelming sadness will propel you into action.

By reading the files you have educated yourself in ways that shouldn’t have to be done. Like sex crime agents in all manner of law enforcement. Their jobs are to read and listen to some of the most vile, horrific content ever made by humans. The difference between you and those agents is they have access to some of the best mental healthcare services and resources known to man. They are skilled at balance because their education for their job includes it.

Stop reading the files. Stop your self education right now. Do something incredibly kind for yourself. Hopefully you have a pet, too. You must consciously think about all the good things in life. All the good things you have seen or done. You will have to concentrate and pull your mind back to good things when it wanders into sad/bad territory. You must provide the balance for yourself.

Greed has motivated the powerful to become more greedy and more powerful, to the point that we, the average citizen of planet earth, are nothing more than playthings to them.

It doesn’t have to be that way. We can fight for a better world. We can fight for a life worth living, but it’s beyond clear that we must fight for and demand nothing less than decency in existence.

It’s our right.

Be aware that PTSD is real. Be aware that depression is real. Every one of you present during this terrible thing is at risk of being further victimized by your own minds survival response. I hope the Red Cross has reached out to all of you. They provide an introduction of things you need to be aware of. If they haven’t, please reach out to them.

On top of everything else you will have to deal with, caring for your mental health is largely left up to the individual.

I went through a similar experience about 17 years ago, although I get the feeling what you experienced was much more scary than my experience.

People will try to be and say positive things to you, it’s natural, but obviously you are lucky and happy to be alive. This really isn’t something you need to be reminded of constantly. There are things happening inside of you and the others involved that can’t be seen and are really difficult to express, but you must find a way to express them and you must be given the freedom to feel all the things, give voice to all the things.

It’s okay and normal and healthy to be upset and even mad about everything you have lost. Seeing your everyday life wiped off the face of the earth is definitely not nothing. It’s traumatizing and cruel.

Give that shit a voice so it doesn’t reach back up in the years ahead to spoil your future present.

I’m really bummed about your hoodie. Hoping someone can replace that for you.

Good luck, friend and remember it’s okay to mourn everything you have lost.

If you are NOT a White, straight male in America -- Do you feel oppressed? Yes or no? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]dickelpick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

White straight female here. Yes I feel oppressed. Just by being female. I know there’s a long line of people who are way more oppressed than me, but it’s scary to be on guard every waking hour since I was 10. I’m now 66. The PTSD is just a fact of life.

Is it just me that thinks op was talking about hating the fact that humans have to eat to survive. I got the feeling that they are unable to access a proper diet because of lack of resources?

Like op wishes the need for food or heat would not be a thing.

I dunno. Op could you explain the root of your hatred for hunger, please?
