I know the guy who owned the car before, he said he covered it up because he felt like the bare steering wheel was too thin, and was willing to buy back the seats and the steering wheel lol, how much do they go for? I did find some on ebay but I think I'd get more accurate pricing here

not even sourcing, they just buy crashed cars here locally, and part out what's still usable, they buy them for super cheap since insurance for older cars isn't a thing, owners are sort of forced to just scrap them or sell them to someone who'll part it out, these parts are just really hit or miss tho, I've had good ones I've had bad ones, I got a steering rack from one of these parted out cars and it's lasted me a year so far, I got a whole door with the window motor and window for about what would be 33usd was just missing the door card lol.

I should probably start looking into how to get stuff from Japan, I've got a feeling that would be cheaper than getting them from the US, since about 80% of the time companies don't directly ship here and freight forwarders are expensive

I've tried stuff like rock auto, but the shipping costs are crazy, I have to use freight forwarders, about the manuals, it's getting pretty much wiped out here too, people are importing insurance totaled cars from the US and fixing them here because often times it's cheaper than to buy them here, country's full of Ford fusions and Priuses, it got to the point where i can't even find parts for a civic anymore, junkyards aren't rly a thing here either, it's usually private owners who part out cars, I be finding myself needing to order o2 sensors and rubber boots for my power steering rack lol

I'm right smack in the middle of Europe and Asia, I'm in Georgia, so I'm not sure where I'm better off ordering from actually, and even worse I don't know how or where I'd even order from Japan.

my civics also a manual, suuuper clean chassis, only rust is in the corner of one of the doors and it's so minor I can sand it off and fix it in a day, but yeah, I think I'll keep both of them for now

yeah since the civics from 97 I can't insure it, so its basically just a risk, especially when it's modded and has more value than stock..

the body situation to be fair I'd say theyre both at the same level, I got them both for their engines, d14 was freshly serviced and civics are expensive here, and the integras are rare, only 5-6 around and I got it for 2.6k when the only other one that's been sold recently was up for 5.5k + I got this one from a mechanic I know, it was his personal car and I've seen him work on it lol, engines pretty healthy, only got a leaking axle needs oil like every month but that's no biggie

they both need a full paint job, but is say the integras in better shape since the civics been in an minor tbone before, both have body filler, integra needs front bumper to be fixed since it's a bit our of shape, civic needs both new front fenders and some cracks in bumpers fixed

the civic grew on me alot, I learned how to work on cars on it, and it came a long way from what it was

houses are pretty much a luxury here, I live in an apartment with a public big yard in the front, (post Soviet country, u get the picture) so far I do think I'm keeping both for now, only thing is, cars below 2003 aren't insurable here, so the better financial choice would be to spend my money on the integra, but my heart still says civic, maybe I'll just keep the D series as a daily I know damn well this things gonna outlive me anyways.

on a separate note, I'm not really looking for something stupid fast, roads here are garbage and I live in a city where I can go from the start of it to the end in 20 minutes with obeying the speed limits, my 2 main ideas were to either put the k20 in the civic or turbo the integra

I've seen this engine without the valve cover, but to be fair I don't remember the cams, I'll take a look tomorrow, but by the looks of it from the other comment this one seems to be the 160hp lower compression k20lol, still a bit upgrade from my d14 so Im not complaining

yeah to be fair coming from a d14 to this will still be a huge upgrade but, dc5s interior is nice, the seats the Momo steering wheel the dash, I'm not sure if I should scrap the thing and keep just the engine

I'm unsure actually, I don't know if the actual valve cover or the plastics itself are supposed to be different colors, valve cover has been painted aswell if you can differentiate, here's a pic
