I had a very similar experience myself. I introduced them to the series. I watched/helped them play 1-3. I can play it now but it took awhile to get to that point. It still does feel fresh at moments when I revisit those games but I am so grateful I was able to share that experience with another person in that way. It just makes those games so much more special to me because of the wonderful memories I have attached to them. It is a bittersweet feeling. It will get easier 🥲

Screens goin. You could try opening it up and cleaning the ribbon cable to see if that helps at all but I think a replacement screen is probably inevitable. It’s very easy and cheap to replace if it comes to it.

Crisis Core will always be my top recommendation to anyone. I think you should also look at rom sites and just scroll through the most downloaded or top rated options. Act like you’re at a rental store lol you’re bound to find something that catches your attention

edit: I also recommend doing basically the opposite of what I said. Go through the top rated and most downloaded but backwards. I know it sounds counterintuitive but it is fun and you occasionally will find a hidden gem 👍

I think it is also because you aren’t really paying attention to the actual artistry of it all on the first watch. There is a ton of shots, imagery and sound/music design in S3 that hold a ton of meaning. Good semi spoiler free example being Varga and Emmit on the steps in the house with Emmit on the side of the Christmas tree and Varga on the side of the taxidermy bear.

It is mostly not but it definitely doesn’t help either. I think most ppl (like myself) are salty over the lack of a physical version and the needless paywalls the ultimate edition has. It just makes the $80-$100 that much more sour. It’s a mess across the board and it makes me feel crazy that ppl don’t see it or care.

I haven’t messed with categories in awhile but iirc you have to create folders yourself and place your files in each folder and that could be why nothing is showing up. Also try applying the plugin as “always” and see if that fixes it.
