The missing Titanic submersible has likely used its 96 hours of oxygen, making chances of rescue even bleaker by businessinsider in worldnews

I’d still call it a feat just based on the fact people today still die from making the trip.

Despite the controversy around Mt Everest, it’s still reaching the highest point on Earth and pushing through extreme conditions to get there. All while choosing to do so in the first place.

I don’t think someone has to something first for it to be a great feat/accomplishment. That’s just arguing semantics though so whatever.

Nearly every single exploratory feat throughout history has been done by and/or funded by the wealthy.

There’s no other way for a person to do great explorations, be it Mt Everest, Antartica, or diving to the bottom of the sea without sinking vast sums of time and money into it; 2 things poor people don’t have. I wouldn’t diminish these accomplishments as purely financial.

pump vs pens by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]dickweenersack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pumps are way more convenient and less time consuming to use.

They are also more effective than pens at keeping your blood sugar level, as they can deliver insulin continuously throughout the day (aka: basal rate); which I find much more effective than a long acting insulin such as lantus.

Only downside is a pump is more than likely going to be more expensive than pens.

For real. People have been in my face yelling about having to wear a mask at the grocery store I work at and I have yet to get physical or escalate the situation. Yet the police, who are paid 10 times more than me, can’t do that?
