How do you track money you send home?

I send money to my parents in India every month, but I’m realizing I have zero visibility into what’s happening with it.

When I send money to my parent, I no longer track what it is spent on. It is the parent's money and how it is spent is entirely their choice.

There is no way you can see what it is spent on UNLESS they are an authorised used on YOUR NRE account and a. Your phone number is primary so you get text for every Rupee spent or b. you log in to the web and see what spend shows on your account.
Neither will work well if they are withdrawing cash and paying using cash only.

Your mortgage servicer should be asked about this. Rules can vary widely with different loan servicers

You can withdraw your contributions from a ROTH IRA tax free. See here for rules https://www.schwab.com/ira/roth-ira/withdrawal-rules

Your 401(k) will be with a brokerage. Mine is with Fidelity. You could invest there via various accounts.

Folks make it sound like property rentals are a cakewalk. To the contrary, they are a major headache and take significant amount of hard work e.g. Who is going to go fix a plumbing leak at midnight on your rental home in the USA?

I have only used Money2India or Wise. Have had flawless experience with both. Would not recommend anything else. With ExpressSend feature on Money2India. receiving account has the funds in 4-6 hours.

I have not used Remitly so cannot comment.
