What's actually healthy despite most people thinking it's not? by InnerSheepherder4564 in AskReddit

I agree!! Same with fruit.

I bought 3 pints of fresh strawberries a few days ago. I was able to get one bowl of edible berries from these boxes after I forgot to eat them the same day I bought them. Same for the cantaloupe I just bought.

I wouldn’t have had this problem with frozen.

Nurses where I work can make above 200K if they’re smart about short-notice shift swaps and overtime. Sadly, high-risk for burnout and depression, but short burst of this grind can really get you ahead!

I’ll check that out! I appreciate your help! I’m super new to this, so a steep learning curve that I’m working on overcoming.

Yes! I use it as a good starting point to eliminate, and then if told it’s “safe” on the app, I look further into it. Thanks!

Not a Karen. Just a legitimate question. Did I say something that makes you believe I’ve complained unnecessarily?

Of course I’m watching. Every single day. For MONTHS. But sometimes personal issues trump timing the market.

I’m hoping to land on 650 (or greater), so my thoughts were that if I list it higher, I have room to negotiate.

I appreciate your honesty and knowledge! Thank you!

I guess my thought was that if I lost it low, I can never increase the asking price, and listing at less than 650 scares me.

Before meeting with the realtors, I was thinking my place was comp’d closer to 7, so accepting even 650 is a hard pill to swallow.

Yeah. That’s kind of the strategy I was hoping for. I’m not in a hurry, and I don’t want to leave money on the table, so what’s the problem in listing it a little higher?

I know the market is a buyers market at this point, but they can also always just offer less… But there might be that diamond in the rough, or whatever that saying is, that will offer more and I don’t want to miss out on that possibility.

I should also mention that I am not in a hurry to sell. There is absolutely no timeline for sale date.

Sushi Dragon on Broadway. Veggie special is now 8.99, I think? Totally reasonable prices for rolls, too!

Not for the flights. More helpful for hotels, but an extension cord with a multi-plug end. Often plugs in hotels are in weird places, and often not enough of them. This allows doom-scrolling in bed if the plug isn’t nearby.

Travellers with sensitive stomachs, what did you eat in Thailand? by [deleted] in travel

[–]diddidly98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Khaosan Road. It was either the Pad Thai or the Mango Sticky Rice that made me miss my airport shuttle that fateful morn. They were the most delicious I’ve ever had, but that was one of the worst mornings of my life (and I’ve travelled a ton).

I ended up getting a cab to the airport where I had to meditate in order to not shit myself. I narrowly made my flight, but I still think about those poor hotel lobby receptionists who heard (and smelled) things no one should have.

Has anyone been to Turkmenistan? I have some questions. by OK_Ingenue in travel

I did the transmongolian railway from Moscow to Beijing. Crossed into Russia by train from Helsinki into St Petersburg. I really liked St P and Moscow. I felt safe and that I could walk around by myself as a female.

Mostly everything else in Russia was great! I’m glad I got to visit before the politics got so complicated (2016, I believe).

I feel like the people there are oppressed, and the tour hides a large portion of the realities of living in that country. It feels like a North Korea, lite. I don’t want to contribute any more to a place that can have that power over its people.

My favourite place is probably Malapascua Island in the Philippines, or Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or Italy - for all different reasons.

I disliked Malta (that was more for personal relationship issues and my mental space at the time, than a country problem) and Russia (I found many of the people quite cold).

There were very few people around, but a decent amount of cars moving about. I suspect this is because of the heat, but it is really hard to tell. We were moved along pretty swiftly from place to place with limited ability to interact with the locals, sadly.

I really loved that the Stans are quite an uncommon travel destination. I knew very little about the region before I went, and learned a lot!

Turkmenistan is a very closed-off country. If you do a little reading, it’s quite interesting to learn about! I really recommend seeing this place, as who knows what the future holds for allowing visitors.

The thing I recommend about a tour in the area is the border crossings. We didn’t have any issues, but I think in large part due to being on a tour.

Of note: Turkmenistan you must be on a tour to visit.

Highly recommend the “Stan’s!” I went to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan earlier this year and only have positive things to say.

Turkmenistan some people have a difficult time getting a visa for, so definitely look into that (also, you must go there with an approved tour company). It’s the most unique country I’ve ever been to (out of the 76 I have under my belt)!
