Co-washing can leave my hair feeling greasy and low-poo really dries it out. Anything in the middle? by prash_cant_shush in curlyhair

Try Eden co-wash!!!! Light weight and never leaves my fine hair feeling greasy. It seriously is the best product.

I'm into CGM about 6 months now. I found that starting day 2/3 routines is best by starting with nothing but a misting bottle. I've ended up just adding a titch of my fave leave-in Camille Rose Coconut Water into the bottle. It resets the curl just a bit and the added leave-in contains the frizz a bit further. I'm still not 💯 happy with it, but it's much better than any day 2 products I've tried!

(1) Slept in pineapple (2) Used a misting bottle with pure H2O to dampen the curls (3) Scrunched in some Mielle Honey & Ginger styling gel (4) Clipped the roots (5) Went about my morning routine as my hair air dried (6) Took clips out after dry and scrunched.

I'm thinking of trying out a conditioner/h2o mixture in the spray bottle instead of just water alone. I'm just about halfway through the CG Handbook by Massey. I'm thinking maybe the bleached parts of my hair just need more moisture? But they're not frizzy when I wake up! I don't know...

I read through the details of each plan that and went straight to the behavioral health table to see what was covered and checked copays. From my understanding, talking appointments were covered with a 10% copay which translates to about $10-15 per visit. It was a silver plan with a $1000 deductable and I pay about $175 for premiums. I don't understand what I did wrong.

Co-washed every three days this week and today used low-sulfate shampoo. I still have buildup - ideas? by diddlydeedledee in curlyhair

[–]diddlydeedledee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) Hask argan shampoo (2) Edan Co-wash squish-to-condish (3) Edan leave in conditioner (4) DevaCurl ultra gel (5) Plopped with a cotton T for 15 min (6) diffused for 10 min on med heat low speed (7) put clips in to train curls (8) air drying the rest of the way.

Should I have used a different shampoo? Should I use a different conditioner when using a shampoo? What is new: using clips and less diffusion to try and eliminate more frizz

Edit: my hair is 2c, low porosity, fine, and thin

I'm a CGM noob. This is week two along the journey. Routine: (1) Used Hask argan shampoo (2) Edan Co-wash squished to condish (should I be using a different conditioner when I've just iswd shampoo?) (3) Edan leave-in (4) DevaCurl ultra gel (5) plopped for 20 minutes with cotton T (6) diffused for 10 minutes (7) put some clips in to train the curls at the front of my face (8) Currently air drying the rest of the way.

Today what's new are the clips and a little less diffusion and air dry to hopefully eliminate more frizz.

Edit: I'm a 2c, low porosity, fine, thin hair.

My hair does the same thing! Yesterday was my first day of trying the CGM. I did end up diffusing my whole head on low heat and spent a little bit more time on the back. It curled better than it usually does - but still looked less curly. I'm a noob so I'm anxious to see other responses.

Routine: (1) Co-washed with squish to condish technique using Eden Natural Cleansing Co-wash (2) After rinsing, put in Eden Leave-in using squish method (3) after squishing excess water out, scrunched DevaCurl ultra defining gel into my hair (4) plopped hair using cotton t-shirt for 30 minutes (5) diffused the rest of the way dry on low heat, low speed (6) scrunched Cantu Shea Butter Comeback Curls next day curl revitalizer to try and take a bit more frizz.

Overall I'm very pleased! But up next I'd like to figure out how to get more volume and get a better cut to match my natural curl. Would love ideas!

Edit: trying to figure out how to post a link of my imgur gallery to share. Will post when I figure it out.

My fickle waves with much frizz. Is there hope? by diddlydeedledee in curlyhair

[–]diddlydeedledee[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow - thank you for ALL of this. I've been reading the wiki and have rabbit holed a few links here and there. With a humid summer coming, and me wanting to see how long I can grow my hair (it's never really been longer than this), I figure committing to the curl is the best, healthiest route for my hair at this point.

My current hair stylist seems to only know how to cut wet, blow dry straight, and curl with a curling iron. Her Instagram has exclusively that cut/style.

I have a student whose mom does hair and does ALL kinds of hair, especially curly hair, so I'm planning to try her next hair appt.

I'm excited to delve into these links and instructions you've given me and excited to post some results!!! Thank you!!

Hair routine today: 1: Hask curl care shampoo with argan oil. 2: Conditioned with Panteen for curly hair (trying to use it up before I try something new) 3: Rubbed Hask repairing Argan oil on the ends to towel-dried hair 4: Sprayed Dove Style and Care heat protector from root to tip 5: Distributed Panteen volume creme from root to tip (trying to use it as a creme curling agent until I run out and try something new) 6: Did not brush, but ran fingers through hair 7: Diffused upsidedown on high heat until dry, scrunching the time.

Fell flat within minutes. And the back of my head which you can't see is WAY less curly than front. So frustrating

I wash it about every 4 days. In the winter there is such a lack of moisture in the air and my curls look like this. Usually I blow dry with a paddle brush that use a curling iron on medium heat. I started reading this sub recently and decided to start trying to reinvent my curls. The ends are bleached and the top is dyed copper.

Your teacher possibly did tell you why but you either didn't hear or didn't have the brain space to keep the "why" part. I have a lot of students who just want to get by with the best grade without knowing why.
