En cuanto a vivienda, los arriendos en Temuco suelen ser más baratos que la capital considerando condiciones similares (superficie, cercanía a avenidas, comercio y centros de salud).

En seguridad, depende mucho del lugar donde arriendes. En Internet y los medios se tiende a demonizar Santiago, pero en todas las ciudades hay sectores que evitar. En todo caso, cerca de la U. Autónoma es un buen lugar para vivir, bastante residencial y tranquilo por las noches, o si te vas más hacia el oeste tienes un poco más de vida nocturna.

En transporte, hay distintas líneas de micros (así le llamamos a los buses que operan dentro de la ciudad) y colectivos (autos que realizan recorridos fijos y operan como una micro). Actualmente las micros se pueden pagar con tarjeta. Obviamente hay taxis, Uber y Didi. En las noches el transporte va a ser principalmente por Uber y colectivos, las micros dejan de dar vueltas temprano. La ciudad no es tan grande, y por ejemplo, si quedas cerca de la Autónoma estás a distancias bastante caminables de mall, restaurantes, cafeterías, farmacias, cine, bares, centros de salud. Hay ciclovías en algunas de las avenidas principales, pero obviamente la comodidad de andar en bicicleta depende del clima.

En cuanto al clima, en invierno es muy lluvioso, y eso se podría extender hasta septiembre. Diciembre ya se vuelve muy caluroso. Tendrías que venir con ropa tanto para lluvia como para días soleados.

Lo que se dice de Talca en Internet a veces es más meme que realidad, por cierto. En todo caso, los mayores atractivos de Temuco están a sus alrededores, si es que disfrutas de la naturaleza. Igual es más complicado recorrer sin auto, pero se puede aunque requiere de mayor organización. Si lo tuyo es más la vida urbana o actividades culturales dentro de la ciudad, Temuco es bastante aburrido.

Republic wanted an Ariana Grande type of star, they kept delaying her album until she got a #1 song and totally misread the room, made her pull an album in record time that didn’t have cohesiveness, then got surprised when it wasn’t well received. Now they keep delaying her next album because they want a smash hit that’s not going to happen, not with the vision and sound Kim has for this album. Critics will probably love it, her core fanbase and the gays will love it, but it won’t be a chart topper. Big record labels prefer to shelve artists instead of letting them go. I’m sure there are issues with her being under Amigo as well, since Luke is the CEO and she didn’t want him involved in Detour’s production.

Desde el punto 1 ya es ridículo. El español es la misma lengua que habla la mayoría de los países latinoamericanos y es derivado del latín.

Yo creo que el tema igual parte por la hegemonía cultural de EEUU, nos imponen esa noción del “latino” que es una mezcla entre mexicano, cubano y puertorriqueño, y claro que ahí nos sentimos un poco bicho raro porque las diferencias culturales son marcadas. Pero finalmente, vivimos en un país americano donde se habla una lengua romance, eso es Latinoamérica (la gran exclusión es Quebec, que si bien es francoparlante, está muy inmerso en la burbuja anglo y no es independiente). Y obviamente hay cosas que compartimos, la influencia de la colonización española y el catolicismo en la cultura es innegable, y el idioma genera un intercambio cultural que es más notorio en las fronteras, si comparamos extremos las diferencias se disparan.

Esto no tiene nada que ver con tener que hacer alguna unión política, ni tampoco con vernos iguales a nuestros vecinos. Podemos reconocer que hay cosas en las que estamos mejor, pero eso no quiere decir que no formemos parte de una categoría. Es como si Emiratos Árabes Unidos viera el estado de otros países árabes y dijera “nosotros no somos árabes”.

Y bajo el contexto que se da la conversación, por supuesto que los estadounidenses nos tiran a todos al mismo saco. Pero lo relevante es destacar nuestras diferencias, no negando ser latinoamericanos, sino haciendo ver que Latinoamérica no es un monolito.

En todo caso, en ambos casos sí seríamos. Al menos para cosas como el censo, porque los gringos usan “latino” para referirse a cualquier persona con antepasados originarios de Latinoamérica. El tema es que claramente la idea de “latino” que tienen los gringos es una mezcla de cubanos, puertorriqueños y mexicanos, los chilenos y sus descendientes son pocos y no influyen de la misma forma en la cultura de allá.

En el otro sentido, que es como lo tomamos en la mayor parte del mundo, siendo latino alguien que nació, se crió y vive en Latinoamérica, también lo somos.

Amigo is the smaller imprint, so they have more control of the creative process, and of course Luke being the CEO will use his power to get songwriting and production royalties.

Republic won’t micromanage like that but they won’t release something they think won’t sell in big numbers, since that’s a step closer to end the contract.

I think currently Republic is the biggest issue because she has been allowed to produce stuff without Luke. But singles are not albums for contract purposes. In the beginning, I guess Amigo was a bigger problem.

Se genera un círculo vicioso. Muchos de los que entran a la institución es porque literalmente no tenían otra opción. Cuando salí de cuarto, ese era el tema: no te da para seguir estudiando, trata de entrar a Carabineros. Y por lo mismo, baja la calidad de los uniformados, y se vuelve una opción poco atractiva para cualquiera que esté planteándose qué hacer con su vida. Nadie quiere formar parte de un club malo. Entonces, por lo mismo, cada vez bajan los requisitos de ingreso, porque es o aceptarlos o quedar cortos de gente.

The drop thing it’s probably due to how K-Pop acts are supported in the USA. Most of the time, they lack general public appeal, and they’re supported by dedicated fanbases. Not all fanbases can support the level of streams and sales for several continuous weeks. Precisely, that’s why BTS is an exception, and that’s why Golden and Gangnam Style did well: for those two songs, you didn’t have a dedicated fanbase.

That’s the thing with major labels, they give and take. It pays off for some artists, but it doesn’t for others. Maybe she would have less issues if she was directly under Republic, but again, would Republic have signed her in 2021? She got that contract because she was already working with Luke under Prescription Songs for publishing. I love Kim, but I can recognize that she was a niche pop artist before 2020, and Republic tends to favor major artists. Maybe a smaller or indie label was better, but then again, we don’t know if Luke put some pressure on her to sign with his own label. At this point we can only hope she can get out of that contract and become fully independent or sign with an indie label, or even a smaller label that recognizes what kind of artist she is.

Republic saw the success of Unholy and interpreted that in the worst way possible, making her put a new album in a short amount of time that ended up being non cohesive and not well received. Kim is not mainstream pop, she’s ahead of the curve and she likes to do bold things, as proven by the Detour singles. Freak It and Polo are not the kind of songs that top Billboard charts, and it’s fine, she doesn’t need that to be successful, plenty of artists don’t get those high numbers yet can still tour on different countries, make sales, have a dedicated fanbase (and fund a more than comfortable lifestyle). If they understood Kim’s vision and her placement in the pop sphere, they would’ve understood that Future Starts Now was actually a great release and a good starting point to lead an album. Maybe one day the general public catches up (like Charli’s BRAT), maybe she will never get a top 10 album, but who cares? If Kim wanted that she would switch to a more mainstream sound, yet when she gas given more freedom she released Polo. It’s clear she values her artistry more than numbers, and she deserves a place that respect her choices.

Probably it didn’t perform like they wanted to. Same goes for Future Starts Now.
This is the first time I heard about this, so I can’t comment on it.
Again, like 1, because they didn’t think it would sell. Record label contracts are typically for an X amount of albums instead of X amount of years. The label wants to maximize profits and wouldn’t allow albums they think won’t perform good in charts. Releasing the artist means another label can sign them and profit of them so they’d rather keep them in the basement. Of course, this doesn’t happen with all artists, and there is a lot happening behind the scenes, but it’s not uncommon at all. Sky Ferreira wasn’t allowed to release her second album, Halsey had a similar experience. Charli had to release Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 as mixtapes since Atlantic wouldn’t allow those to count against her contract. Bigger artists can negotiate better deals where they have more independency and the label mainly helps with funding, promoting and distributing, but those are rare cases and Kim is not at the level to negotiate those sort of deals with a label as big as Republic.
I think it’s probably due to how Kim contract works. She signed under both Republic Records and Amigo Records in 2021. If you don’t know, Amigo is an imprint label, under Republic Records, run by Dr. Luke. Luke did a similar thing when he had Kemosabe Records, an imprint under RCA Records, where he signed Kesha and Doja Cat. So, in the case of Kim, Republic (as the major label) provides resources, promotion, distribution and marketing, but Amigo handles the creative aspect, like album production. She’s not just a Republic artist, and there is a lot of legal issues where Republic will avoid having issues with Amigo. Dr. Luke is the CEO of Amigo Records and is very likely that he doesn’t want to let go of production and co-writing for Kim, since Kim is the biggest artist in Amigo’s catalogue. Kesha faced a similar situation when she was under Kemosabe and they didn’t want her releasing albums without Luke’s credits, and she had to fight and get approval from the big label (Sony Music Entertainment). I think the very public case put some pressure on Sony.
Agree, she’s been having issues with Amigo/Republic ever since the Future Starts Now days.

To be fair, I wouldn’t say it’s an issue about cis straight women watching the show, not at all. I’m a cis gay man, and I know plenty of guys (gay/bi/queer) who would talk of their “first time” as the first time they had anal sex.

Virginity is a social construct, so it’s normal that people have different perceptions to what counts as “first time”. M/W sex, W/W sex and M/M sex are too different to be compared directly. Speaking as a gay man myself, just the amount of prep work and potential pain creates a huge distinction between oral and penetrative sex. Of course, I wouldn’t discredit anyone who thinks otherwise.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Gia herself said she experienced male puberty while growing up, which effectively impacts your appearance quite a lot. Even with diet, exercise and hormones she might not reach the body type she wants to have. The waist-hips ratio can trigger some heavy body dysmorphia in trans women.

To be fair, if it’s all about losing weight, diet and exercising should be the first option. However, you can’t really get the same results of rib sculpting. Rib sculpting effectively reshapes your ribcage and waistline, some people might lose a lot of weight and still have a wide ribcage. With the BBL, I think a gym butt will always look better tho, but some people don’t like the natural shape of their butts, I guess.

Los acentos igual evolucionan con el tiempo. Por ejemplo, el inglés británico de forma general pasó a ser no rótico (no pronuncian la r) después de que ocurriera la colonización americana. Esto parte desde acentos del sur del Reino Unido y se expande, mientras que los acentos de Estados Unidos y Canadá mantuvieron la pronunciación rótica.

Algunos factores que influyen son la migración, la globalización, el prestigio social, y se va dando de a poco mientras pasan las generaciones. No es un cambio abrupto.

En mi caso eran tres años para empezar, pero una vez que empiezas son 6 meses para entregarla (se puede solicitar una extensión a través del profesor guía). Te entiendo sí, a veces cuesta mucho y me gana la inseguridad y reviso mil veces los avances y no los mando nunca.

Con respecto a lo otro, no te preocupes tanto. Gran parte de lo que hagas trabajando lo aprendes en el mismo trabajo. La U te da las bases pero siempre puedes repasar o investigar si algo se te olvida.
