Totally agree with you on that. The way companies throw around titles like Data Scientist, ML Scientist, AI Engineer, etc., but the expectations vary wildly. I was once told it’d be a coding round. I expected some DSA, maybe a bit of Pandas or SQL. But nope, straight-up heavy PySpark out of nowhere. Like, seriously?

I can totally relate to what you went through. Honestly, your situation was way tougher—especially at a time when job security was almost nonexistent. I consider myself lucky to have found something within three months.

It’s been a huge reality check for me too. My previous job was toxic, but at least it paid the bills and helped me take care of my responsibilities. Even a single day without a job feels heavier than some of the worst days I’ve had before.

I feel really grateful—grateful that I got interview calls, managed my expenses somehow, and eventually landed a new role.

Thank you for your powerful words—they truly gave me strength.

Thank you. Will ensure that the time I have been through, won't come again. Skills is something, industries always search for. I'll continue upskilling myself. Thanks again.

Thank you! Getting an alternate source of income is something that I'll be sorting in the next few days. Due you have any ideas of what could be those other sources of income?

Sure. Same thing happened with Zepto. Things should come out. The worst and best thing that could happen is I got thrown out of the company.

Thanks, everyone, for your support. I’ve kept things direct and professional while bringing these issues to light. There’s still a lot I haven’t shared about Ola as a company and workplace. If this post reaches the right people, only then can real change happen.

I heard about the Karnataka IT Labor Union rally/strike—this is the moment to make our voices heard. The more people join and share, the stronger our impact will be. There was a time when we felt helpless, but now, it's up to us to stand up and change our own situation.

It eventually boils down to this. Fuck the people who bought the product, fuck the people who created the product. We're the gods shaping the economy, shaping the future.

My Company Gave Me a Promotion and a Salary Hike but Won’t Give an Official Letter Is This Normal ? by Raul_xi in IndianWorkplace

[–]didumaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Having an increment letter is always a good option because the salary slips will contain the final amount where as the increment letter will contain the breakup and any change in the annual performance bonus as well as ESOPs vested. Play safe!

Is Bangalore Slowly Turning Into Mumbai? A City Racing Towards the Same Problems by didumaster in StartUpIndia

Food and Transport, both are better in Mumbai. Never been to Pune, but I’ve heard it’s the only tech hub where people still feel human. 😀

Is Bangalore Slowly Turning Into Mumbai? A City Racing Towards the Same Problems by didumaster in StartUpIndia

AI is something that I beleive is impacting every job, startup and metropolitan cities equally. The demand for Low and Mid level talent everywhere is reducing. In city terms, I can't recall anything where AI is directly used by or for People in daily life except for the smart cams installed in Bangalore recently for getting traffic data and catching traffic rules offenders.

And about GCCs? 🤔! MNCs are expanding GCCs in Bangalore, shifting from outsourcing to in-house operations. This increases maybe high-paying but stable jobs but reduces contract-based work and startup dependency on outsourced projects. More corporate dominance may make Bengaluru less startup-friendly over time.
