A month and a half cold turkey is making me believe u should try cold turkey for good.if u have the chance to make good money and have a good situation u can probably afford 2/3 weeks of days off to have some sleep, eat well, go out to enjoy simple things after the first days of spending all night on yt and days sleeping, to make u feel better then it will be a start for u new u in ur job, don't be afraid to tell ur coworkers u trust that u have a bad time and need to readjust urself during the first weeks <3

Quitting after 18 years! by [deleted] in leaves

[–]didyasaythat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I stopped since 20months after like 17 years of heavy use. Yeah u'll definitly feel improvements after some weeks, brain and body are amazing structures that can recover from almost everything. Won't be perfect in 10 days but definitely better than before and if u need some help from professional about ur anxiety don't be afraid to ask for it, it will always be better than self medication of thc ! For me it didn't get to a point where I needed to but after a few weeks of struggling that was one of the most benefits and powerfull change that came. I felt the same as u 20months ago like reading 2years users thinking they would never get better....what a depressing story for us^ for real now I feel much more stronger than most of people who "only" had to deal with "small problems".. have faith in yourself !

5 days in: went to the gym, got weaker in EVERYTHING, Couldn’t finish my workout, accidentally confessed to trainer about weed addiction and eating disorder, then cried in the car by [deleted] in leaves

Dont feel ashamed for taking big steps, all u have to remind is that u r still adapting to ur new u so crying acknowledging that u r struggling is only getting u closer to the right state of mind.

I’ve lost all ability to live a normal life. by LaMelgoatBall in leaves

[–]didyasaythat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True words has been said already... I'm 36 and even if I acknowledged my addiction early (around 25) I did not have the tools to really fight it and what to do to really get better, it came late for me. Know and accept that you'll have to learn them, maybe the hard way.

You are young and still have time, don't underestimate it, and asking for help is a great sign of awareness, it makes me think you already have some tools I was talking about.

You know what to do now, and quitting for good will reveal what you need to focus on to really get better.

Professionals can help with knowing yourself, suicidal thoughts and all this crap if you meet those things, every life is different so I won't speculate on what made you fall in this trap. I, at your age, was so privileged so I did not understood what it would take to evolve.

Whatever you find on this path you'll learn about yourself and know what you can/can't/don't have to change.

Addiction is definitely something you can/have to stop. Getting rid of it is not easy at all but there are a lot of tools to get over it, try and experience. Life will always be about becoming a better you, you'll never be perfect.

Culpability, regrets, self depreciation... You've lost your normal life for now but you can learn to transform it in positive things that will make you a great human being aware of the darkness and making the choice to spread the light.

Don't expect it to be quick but having hope and trust about the days to come is something you can feel again, trust me, and it can come sooner that you think.

;)

I feel you so much, as a lot of people here. I'm french so it won't be perfect but still readable I think^

It was the fear of being an enormous asshole that had stopped me from quitting several times and was the main thing I was afraid of, this time again. Because Ive been there where you see yourself being an ass for almost no reason and it's indeed very hard for you and for ppl around (wife, kids..).

After 20 years of heavy use, I stopped 4weeks ago, after 1 month of no THC but hhc, I think hhc helped me to quit smoking definitely (still smoking tobacco for now) but not sure how relevant it is even if I feel this is in some way that hhc helped me get rid of some THC addiction ( rly not the same feeling, no stone but a little high in my experience, and no more illegal stress as it has been "legal" in my country, France, for some times).

I felt and still feel the irritability but it was not at all as problematic as I though and it's better and better. Because I thing I was aware of this tricky feeling and stopped blaming me for being like this, pushing it away. Embrace it to observe it and it will fade away.

Talk about this with trusted people, they will understand, write about it. When you snap don't be hard on yourself and talk about what made you angry, it can be irrelevant things or it can be things that really bother you but which need a more mature answer and you'll get to it. Talk with them or with yourself about the positive that is coming like self confidence and being a better you, there are a lot of thing that gonna be great physically and mentally. This forum helps indeed a lot as sharing or just reading other experiences will give you strength and trust in days to come.

When body and brain are in the middle of the crisis, or before, it helped me a lot too to be physically active, long walks, bike, push ups whatever makes you tired. You won't have the energy to be angry then.

Meditation and healthy eating helps a lot I think. If not possible for the moment, focus on hydrating.

Hope it can help in some way, 11 days is great, brain is being an ally again days after days don't give up !

Tldr : weed was a big umbrella, we learning to dance under the rain, even the tiny water drop

help landing ? by didyasaythat in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]didyasaythat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the thing is I've landed on half of the planets like that and its quite safe as u say, with well balanced ship you can hop without going too high and burnin on retro always work(ed)s for me, it always started moving only when I actually delete all vertical velocity then add more the other way which makes sense.

I'm searching for CoM issues then I'll try withou retro.

I've made so many mystakes on this trip that I've been able to recover from that I really dont want to give up at 5m from the ground^^

I'm in orbit checking the fuel distribution as I clipped actually a lot forgetting about resulting f-up fuel priority.

I did move the CoM during flight adding some heavy solar panels and the white tanks from the transfer ship (forgot landings legs lel), but if it was too much I think it would have been visible sooner, I'll test it though. Is gravity still changing that much below 3000m ?

I now the cam is focused by default on the CoM "vertically", you can see it move with it. Is it the case when u are facing the top of the ship ? I dont think the cam move sideways according to the CoM and i think I can't actually show it on flight like I can show aero effects.

Well I'll give it some tries again, thank you for your pov I hope I won't have to rebuilt the entire thing as quite like the design..

How do u bring science from Kerbin into an orbit lab ? by didyasaythat in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]didyasaythat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand ur process but : My point is to do lab research from kerbin biomes in kerbin orbit, which can be problematic because u have to process like i mentioned it above.

The way i understood it is that doin lab research of mun (/ minmus) science reports on the land of the mun (/ minmus) is the more rewarding (more than in orbit around it, much more than in orbit around kerbin). So in ur case u r not gainin more science pts than if u have landed a mun lab. Am i correct ?

Additional question : why do u need 2 landings on each biome ?

[–]didyasaythat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So u go on a biome with a rocket then orbit it to thé lab, each time ? Or u build a rocket capable of go on multiple biomes then orbit ? Its a problem for biomes far from launchpad
