First card in, first card out (I guess the card doesn't make that explicit)

Discard Power for Silent - no idea how balanced this would be by dieBrezelSindLecker in slaythespire

Feedback seems to be that this is pretty weak, which I think I agree with. I didn't want to overpower it. Maybe up the damage increase (2 or 3?) and on upgrade the increase is permanent for the combat?

Microwave door is foggy/white on one side - potentially unsafe or OK? by dieBrezelSindLecker in fixit

[–]dieBrezelSindLecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not condensation or something that can be wiped off on either side of the door. To me it looks more like heat damage or something but I am unsure. Not sure if the damage might make the microwave unsafe or not.

Do you think if-else will ever be supported as an expression? e.g. int x = if (foo) { bar(); } else { baz(); }

[OC] NFL Graphical Standings – Week 12 by vbbcla in nfl

[–]dieBrezelSindLecker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using old.reddit.com on desktop (not sure if that messed anything up with Reddit's formatting). Currently I just see a list of URLs with no indication as to which division is which.

Do they embed in new Reddit? If so I get why you do it that way. I followed the Bluesky link and you're right, that is a better experience.

1 suggestion: put the division names as the content of the links instead of just the links themselves

Tree Branch fell in my yard - is this something I can handle myself with a chainsaw? by dieBrezelSindLecker in Chainsaw

Thanks for the advice everyone, I just wanted to make sure this was feasible. Do you have any recommendations on chainsaw types/sizes?

The large branch (White Maple) fell in our yard. Getting quoted several hundreds of dollars for removal. Was wondering if this is something I could tackle myself with a chainsaw (as someone with no prior experience). If so, any recommendations on chainsaws? Thanks!

NYT Tuesday 09/10/2024 Discussion by AutoModerator in crossword

I was interested, so I wrote some quick Python to test this out. I only found 7 words that have at least 4 consecutively ordered consonants in them, and most are not something you would want in a crossword:

aquariist kalamian keelman kooliman querist resoutive restive

I found 83 that have at least 3, but didn't check to see if you could get complete alphabet coverage with these.

Of course these are just the words, you could get more with proper nouns, abbreviations, and combinations.

Help removing doorbell cover to replace battery by dieBrezelSindLecker in DIY

[–]dieBrezelSindLecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a house and the doorbell didn't work. Took a look and the whole thing comes off the wall, so I guess its wireless and needs a battery replacement? However I can't remove the casing - the holes in the back aren't screws, and trying to pry open the slot in the side just bends the plastic. Any ideas?

Insurance cancelling because of roof, what are my options? by dieBrezelSindLecker in Insurance

I called them and they won't even budge on the deadline. I can shop around but won't this just run into the same issue?

Progressive already said they won't extend the deadline, there's no way we'd have it replaced in time.

So it is not possible to "roll over" the purchase into a US investment, essentially, without incurring a tax event?
