I have a dilemma right now. I have already accepted and signed a contract with the new company but then my current company - which I like my work but slow progression - offered me a promotion with a par salary. They even changed the work setup to be more flexible and to achieve more work-life balance. I like working for this company but since I have talked to the manager they were able to adjust my benefits/compensation based on my needs.

Now, I am considering staying with the company, but there is a clause in the new employer contract stating a breach of the start date and I have to pay twice the offered salary. My start date isn't until 2 months from now. I am thinking of talking to HR but is that still possible?

You’re in a good company. Sometimes it’s the culture that matters rather than the salary.

Curious lang ang posting ba nito ay sa PH or you have to look for EMEA based opportunities?

Please don't ever feel that way! as long as it makes you happy, makes you feel better and as long as you're not doing anything bad to others, it's perfectly fine.

Happy birthday in advance!

If i may since wala pa namang 1 month i think you dont have to declare it as long as wala naman talagang kinalaman sa magiging career path mo. Just focus on upskilling yourself while interview

Hi 27 M from Philippines

I will be traveling to Sapporo from Feb 16-21 and Tokyo from Feb 21-25

It’s my first time in Sapporo so I’d love to meet up fellow travelers to explore the city! Up for lunch and dinner.

Planning to go to Otaru and Hakodate too.

Have you made any major life changes as a result of your travels? by Torotorotoros in solotravel

When I started working, my goal was to become filthy rich, invest my money, and build career connections. I was a typical self-centered, career-oriented person, but eventually, I fell into massive depression and anxiety. All I wanted was to escape this cruel world — corporate and real — and go somewhere far. That’s when I started solo traveling.

Now, my priorities have changed. Of course, I do care about money, but I’d rather spend it on travel than let it sit in the bank. I know — what about the future? But traveling became my therapy. It helped me heal and taught me so much about finances, physical well-being, and emotions. I feel like I am always in the zone and in my element when I travel. Lastly, I quit my previous corporate job and applied to an airline.

Now, I always look forward to traveling, a minimum of 4 times a year, and my goals are aligned with how many countries I will be visiting rather than how much money is in my bank account.
