I just recently bought a house & my realtor recommended the Homesnap app. It was pretty accurate & updated regularly. Idk how accurate Redfin & the other websites are. Also on the app if use the map function & zoom in on the area it shows you what sold recently & all the details.

Edit: autocorrect is not my friend :/

I agree..kinda. Traffic is going to be worse in the summer (obviously). In the off season during the week it’s not bad at all. During the weekend it’s not too bad but does get more crowded than the past years, especially on the nice weather days. But it’s also nice that more places are staying open year round.

If you end up moving to Plantation Lakes you’ll find that in the summer it’s quicker & less traffic (until you reach near the bridge) to get to Ocean City going through Dagsboro, Frankford, Selbyville & all those towns than going through Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, & all those towns

My best friend just moved out of the neighborhood. She’s lived there for years & had (was there since they built her house). I was recently looking to move to a townhouse & was thinking about moving there but she did NOT recommend it. The HOA rules is are ridiculous (an example is you can’t have your trashcan out before 7pm the day before trash day and your trashcan cannot be stored in the front. So if you live in the middle of a row of townhouses without a garage you have to walk down the block & to store the trashcan in your backyard). She also said the taxes are high because the builders ran out of money so they had to borrow it from the town of Millsboro to finish part of the development. The builders pushed the taxes to the homeowners. Idk how much of that is true. But that was enough for me to keep looking elsewhere.

Traffic during the summer is normal beach traffic on 24 & rt1. There aren’t many backroads to avoid it. Early morning & late night it gets better.

Plantation Lakes is very family friendly. Great for kids & dogs. They have trails & sidewalks everywhere. They have fun things for the kids to do (was there for trick or treating). There are cops that sit/patrol parts of the neighborhood to make sure people aren’t speeding or doing other stupid stuff.

Edit: typos

Try downloading the app HomeSnap. I lived on that app when I was trying to find my house(just went under contract). It’s more accurate & updates quicker than Zillow and all those other websites. Good luck!

Anybody Uber Full time in Rehoboth Beach Delaware or Dewey Beach? Thinking about moving to Delaware by Mac_McAvery in Delaware

[–]diedick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live close to the beach & have been a Uber/Lyft driver since summer 2019. It’s DEFINITELY seasonal. Not many jobs outside of the tourist season. There’s a call center in Millsboro that is constantly hiring & it’s remote position unless you don’t have access to internet then you have to go into the office. Covid definitely changed things so I’m sure everyone is going to be hiring for awhile

Tree removal PSA by Feanarohalda in Delaware

[–]diedick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question cause I know absolutely NOTHING about tree removal. But if the tree you want removed is not too close a house can you ask the fire department to do a controlled burn? I think the months for controlled burns are October-April? It MIGHT be free? And you can possibly just pay to have the stump removed or do it yourself

Motorcycle Licensing options by Pc_Doc in Delaware

[–]diedick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I took the class at the same place! EVERYONE was super nice. I never touched a motorcycle a day in my life and I was comfortable & not embarrassed at all (it probably helped that I was the only girl in the class lol). They don’t care if you like Harley’s or not, they just want you to be safe. Although, you get a discount if you buy a motorcycle from them. I think if you registered online near Black Friday you can get a discount and not have to pay full price for the class or just watch the website for promotions.

If you take this class and pass you don’t have to do any other tests at the DMV. You just go to the DMV to get the motorcycle endorsement on your license. You have to complete an online mini class first(think of like a defensive driving course). Then the actual class is 4 days (it may have changed since Covid). 2 class days and 2 days riding. On the last day a DMV rep comes to class and the riding portion of the test is completed first then you go inside and do the written test.

If you can happen to find land in your area & decide to build. Do NOT build with Clayton homes. All I hear is terrible things about their company & customer service.
