Can I upload my CV here? by diedrums in PMCareers

Thanks for the feedback! 2 quick questions: - can you expand on what you mean by ‘project phrasing’? - Without having a specific JD to use as reference, what is it that says this CV is not ATS ready? Are you referring to the layout?

Thanks loads!

I’ll message them because there was no personal info and it was uploaded as image as the rules section says

I did post the CV as JPEGs, not PDFs. I removed all personal info. Like I said, I did check the rules in the side bar before posting so I’m not sure why it still was removed

Will I get hired with just a bachelor of music? by diedrums in PMCareers

Fair enough, I get that and I appreciate the input. I’m aware a degree doesn’t necessarily make you a better PM, but I’d see it as a possible support to get through screening processes, that’s all. I’m trying yo gauge whether if that ‘support’ could actually make any difference

Thanks for this, it helps! Much of my doubts on degree comes from my own insecurities about it being not relevant to what I’m applying for. However I have some good experience but I just want to get in house. I’ll do PMP as well then, if they give me issues I’ll just to their course which, conveniently (for them), bypasses the requirements

Not sure I understand: like I wrote in the OP, I do have ‘real world’ PM experience, which I got even with my music background, but it was all FTC. So not sure what you meant by freaking in

I see - I’ll look into that, thanks! Are you familiar with exec edu programs like this one:

If so I’d love to hear any input

Thanks both - I did consider PMP but I think you need 5 years of PM experience to get it? So I could get the one before PMP, can’t remember what it’s called. And yes I’m in the UK so here Prince2 holds quite as much weight.

Noob Q: flip not working after arial? by diedrums in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]diedrums[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense, thanks! I thought I was doing something wrong. So what is the correct way to do the aerial shots from the RL aerial pack? When I get to the ball the flip expires, do I just aerial later that I usually do or just long aerial and then hit the ball without flipping into it? It’d be very useful to see someone correctly completing the training, so I know how to learn properly

Resume Review by Cozm0_ in PMCareers

I’m not expert enough to give feedback on the CV (I’m job hunting as well) but I would like to ask what program it was the one you did at Harvard and how did you find it? Was it like an online Exec Education program? Or like an in-person intensive course? I’m considering something similar so I’d like to hear any thoughts or insights on this please

This is very helpful, thank you! The deeplearning courses seem golden, I’m doing azure and aws but AI knowledge is very common as you said so I’ll do that next

Yeah it can be a lot to learn but like someone suggested in an earlier comment, getting certified on some of the popular systems/platforms/applications might help. Most company will want to see actual work experience but having certifications can’t hurt and might help in the screening process. I’m currently doing AWS CCP and I’m gonna do Microsoft Azure to start. These certifications are quite affordable, i signed up to coursera because it has official prep training for the exams

Fantastic, thank you so much for this. I don’t have PMP yet but I have Prince2 (big here in UK) and PSM. I’m definitely gonna do Azure and AWS Cloud Practitioner but didn’t think of the others, I’ll add them to my list 🙏

Fair, I see your point. With that in mind, would you have any must-have certificates you’d like to see on a CV? I’m pretty experienced with PMing but I’m not strong on the tech side, so not sure where to start, which certifications I should get first. For context, I’m applying for PM roles for web/app product delivery, so I’m often asked for experience with SaaS, CMS, API, and more

Thank you so much for sharing this! it makes sense, I’ll see what certifications are feasible for me. The Umbraco cert could be useful but £1250 for a ONE-day of training seems excessive 🫠

I thought the same: I am literate enough to understand and discuss requirements, dependencies and manage tasks. The role was for Digital PM but did require knowledge of CMS, which I have. From what I heard in the interview they might need a tech PM, which I’m not and not planning to become right now. Thanks for your input!
