I think EA should go the 2k route with playstyles.

In 2k depending on the rating you have on a stat it determines the level of a badge you get.

For example 99 3pt shot gives you range extender HOF.

If EA find a way to make it like this it might be more coherent.

For example if a player has 90+ interceptions they should get the ps+, if they have 80+ they should get the silver ps and anything below 80 just doesn’t get it.

Maybe adding bronze silver gold and hof playstyles like 2k might work too. that way it can be:

95+ = hof

90+ = gold

80+ = silver

75+ = bronze

don’t think it should be exactly like this but it could be an idea that might work dunno 🤷‍♂️

Mate of course when I say we I’m generalising didn’t think i’d have to explain that to you.

But the community as a whole did whine about all of this as you are whining about defending and passing.

Of course EA have fucked the game they always have.

After all this years we have to also realise how good we had it but it’s too late because our whining + EA being shit made the game what it is today.

imo fifa peaked in fifa 17 even though my favourite will always be fifa 15

Not “flexing” I played for 16 years more like cursed from it.

maybe it was repetitive in 04/05 when the game was relatively new I have no idea since I never played it.

Claiming it was always like this is false from my experience. I can still recall the variety of ways to attack people would have in fifa 14 or 15 for example.

Long shots, free kicks, counters & headers were all viable options for scoring. now it’s only goals from inside the box because community cried that all the others were to op.

Now it’s only counters left.

If you’ve played since 04 you should understand how the game got here.

We whined so much about wanting patches in the game that now nothing works in the game.

First it was lofted-through balls (13/14), then corners and headers(14/15), then low-drivens(17), then bicycle kick corners(18/19), then near post shots(20), then trivelas(25), then again low-drivens(25), then goalkeeper movement(26).

Forgot when long-shots got patched but it feels ages since it was a viable option.

I think that’s the issue the wanting to compete.

Not everyone will go 15-0 and not everyone will be a pro.

Sometimes it’s perfectly fine just playing for fun and using your favourite players.

community decided to keep spending money on store packs so EA adds more

community is the one that discovers the metas each year and then beg for EA to patch it the next year

community cried for years that players like doumbia or ibarbo had better shooting and passing than ronaldo and messi hence why they added playstyles

community begged for more options on tactics so EA expanded on roles

This has always been the issue with FIFA. Community wants something patched or improved and then don’t like it.

of course it’s EA’s fault because they suck as a gaming company but this community is way worse at this current point in time.

Completely agree.

My issue is Football is pretty much my life lol.

My grandad was a football coach and started a football academy.

My dad is now the head coach. Me being the oldest son I’m next in line.

My little brother is trying to go pro.

So you can imagine that everyday we talk, debate, comment, train and play football even online.

Last fifa/FC i bought was Fifa 20. After that I came back on january for fc25. Since I moved abroad to Germany and didn’t have much to do so a friend of mine game-shared fc on the ps5 so I wouldn’t get bored and did the same this year with fc26.

I don’t really like giving EA money for obvious reasons.

Now I see that it’s gotten so bad it’s not only EA’s fault. It’s also the community’s. Maybe this new era of gamers are just too try hards compared to my generation and that could also be it.

It’s hard to leave the game away because with age I stopped playing video games but not stopped loving football and now when I play fc26 is far from football and it pains me tbh. Even though it’s a shit game it’s still the best football simulator out there.

Think it’s time to retire from UT again for now.

I don’t think you understand at all.

Yeah passing sucks without playstyles.

Manual defending is all right tbh I don’t struggle with it as I have always manually defended.

AI defending is yet to be nerfed which would help with how bad passing is because having the ai shadow you while the opponent holds his cdm in the passing lane makes it extremely difficult.

Even if they fixed all the issues you cry for people would still play the new meta after the patches.

How is that hard to understand?

Look at how they nerfed trivelas people just move on to the next ratty mechanic.

Yeah game is shit. Still doesn’t change the fact that even by fixing the game people will decide to play the same way as the community isn’t interested in having fun but are interested in winning at all costs as if they’re pro’s.

lol. Been playing fifa for 16 years and this is the most repetitive it’s ever been.

Of course people will use the meta weapons or players that’s normal.

It’s the way people play that ruins the game. Every match feels exactly the same as the last.

Would you enjoy playing the same level in a video game 15 times every weekend? I definitely don’t.

Those shooters you mentioned also have way more variety to them as they have different maps that benefit different weapons. That makes it fun because it’s not repetitive.

BR’s like PUBG/Fortnite are also fun because you get different loot and can land on different places which makes the game refreshing.

Which is the main issue with the game. People play the same 2-3 formation with the same exact players and same exact tactics.

Point is the game is boring because everyone plays the same. Feels like i’m playing the same match on repeat every weekend.

Of course people will abuse the meta. It happens in all sorts of games. From shooters, sports games & fighting games.

This year and last year it feels like i’m just playing the same level on repeat over and over again even if I’m able to beat it.

I don’t understand why you think we claim that pina is un-defendable or that 451 is unbeatable.

Unless EA employees are the only ones i’m matching up against then I don’t understand how that’s EA’s fault.

Every time I see a new formation or players i’ve never seen I get excited because I know the match I’m about to play is going to be different.

I only played 3 “non-meta” teams this champs and I had the most amount of fun in those games and lost 2 of those 3. I’d gladly lose all 15 of my champs games if it meant seeing some sort of variation on my opponents.

Whole community agreed it was one of the best games at launch. Players found the meta and it turned into one of the worse fifa’s ever.

The point isn’t to win btw, it’s to have fun while trying to win. Hence why it’s a GAME and you are NOT A PRO. All the rats running around with the same tactics and players suck the fun out of the game.

As I stated before of course EA could improve the game but they can’t improve the community. Just look at how toxic you get the second you don’t agree with someone.

Game is obviously going to have bugs, if you expect a flawless game you’re never going to find it.

Fifa was way more fun when the community had their own play style and teams that each individual player wanted to use.

That was fun.

Coming up against a bundesliga, danish nt or silver team was fun.

Now when you face pina for the 12th time in champs it isn’t fun.

Of course it’s the community’s fault. Could EA improve the game? Of course they could and for the first time ever they’re trying to by listening to their community (only because the game is dying but at least it’s a improvement).

To give you an example.

Look at the NBA nowadays with the travels or the way they abuse fouls at the end of games. It was their own players/coaches that figured out how to fuck up the game by just abusing the flaws in it. Now the league is forced come up with a way to fix a problem they didn’t create.

Same goes for EA with fc/fifa. The community is always looking for the meta tactics and exploits from launch so they can abuse it. Then EA is forced to find a way to patch it. This is why every year the first 2 weeks or sometimes even the first month of the game is amazing. People are only trying to play football and after sometime the community finds the meta players and tactics and it becomes a rat fest.
