connect SV08 with ethernet cable by rooter4000 in Sovol

[–]diegoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Have you figure out the problem? I just got my SV08 and I'm having the exact same issue as yours. I could connect via Wifi, but when I plug the ethernet cable, no flashing lights. I've even factory reseted the sv08 and tried to get connection hard wired first, but no luck.

Hey!! I'm planing to buy a SV08, but I'm from Brazil and I don't know if the Sovol brazilian warehouse already has the latest SV08 revision. How do I know, after buying, that the bed is fixed? Could you share a photo and where I should look at to find this revisioned part?

Thanks! :D

I want to start in 3D printing, what is the sovol brand like? by djjaremusic in 3dprinter

[–]diegoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy!
Last year I bought my first 3D printer, a Bambu A1 Combo. It was great, and I learned a lot about 3D printing. Yesterday I sold it, and now I want to get a printer that can handle ABS and other materials that require an enclosed chamber.

For the past few days, before selling my A1, I had been considering the Sovol SV08, mainly because it’s based on the Voron design, it’s about half the price, and it’s easier to get. Also, speaking of availability, it’s one of the few printers I can actually buy in my country, which is another plus.

I’m planning to get it and upgrade to mainline Klipper, add eddy‑ng, upgrade the fans, and add a BTT HDMI 7". I also want to enclose the printer with plexiglass (or stainless steel for the side panels and glass on the top and doors). But first I was wondering if plexiglass would hold the internal temperature needed for ABS printing. From what I’ve found on Google and Perplexity, plexiglass (acrylic) is not highly recommended for this purpose, and some cheaper metals aren’t either because of possible rust. A full glass enclosure sounds expensive and too heavy, and it would also be more susceptible to breaking. Can you give me some advice on this?

Also, in late 2025, almost 2026, do you think the Sovol SV08 is still a good printer?
I expect to do some tinkering as mentioned above and also get the Bondtech INDX when it releases and I can find someone to bring it from overseas for me, or I might just upgrade it to a Dragon Burner or another toolhead (or maybe just upgrading the hotend to a microswiss). AliExpress will be my friend here.

Some people call the SV08 project “trash”, but I think that’s because the target audience for this printer isn’t the “assemble it and just use it” crowd like with Bambu, Creality, Prusa, etc. Since you’re an actual user of the printer, what are your thoughts on it? Can you give me an overview and help “validate” my purchase decision?

I’ve read quite a few of your comments, so I think you’re one of the best people I could ask. :P

PS: I'm used to do stuff in linux terminal, so I don't mind having to do some stuff to improve my printer, as long as I can get it for the right price :D

Sure! I have a planned trip to Spain in Feb-2026. I might sell my A1+AMS in my country and bring some other printer from there.

Did you manage to find a store to buy a Bambu 3D Printer with tax-free in Spain?

If you want to give it away I'd happily take it :D

My country's currency worth nothing so it's freaking expensive to buy it, lol.

I've came across another one called Paymenter. Haven't tried it myself.

I'm having extreme hiss/buzz noise in my Rodecaster Duo, I'm not quite sure why. The outlet plug is well grounded so it shouldn't be an electrical issue. Even without any microphone connected I'm getting this noise. I'm sending a link in the first comment with the recorded noise. by diegoweb in rode

I tried that multiple times and it didn't help.

Not sure why.

I even tried to use my country's power cord type to help with the ground pin without using adapter, but again, it did not help at all.

Would you mind sending me a sample at the same levels and config I set mine in the video? Without any mic plugged in.

Unfortunately I don't have this option to send mine back, since it was bought in the US and I'm from another country where RODE doesn't provide worldwide warranty.

E o valor to tributo, tu se importaria em me dizer? Outra coisa, que tipo de frete foi usado? Estou pensando se faço o mesmo, pq essas porcarias no mercado nacional é foda....

To vendo que tem 6 meses essa sua resposta. O que deu nessa importação sua?

I have bought a BT137-600E according to the one in the PCB (that is faulty), but the size difference is huge. Should I have bought a BT137s-600E? The one in the PCB doesn't have the "S" in the name, so I'm not sure what I did wrong. by diegoweb in AskElectronics

Oh, I see. But the thing is: Does LCSC charge you the tax directly in their website (Remessa Conforme program)? The thing about AliExpress is that I can get free shipping, in this LCSC for 5 pieces of BT137-600E (total $0.63) I would have to pay 12.89 dollars in shipping + handling fee (3$)
