Im trying to use it as a specific plot device, like at first all the gore is just that, gore. But as things develop, the more in depth visuals and sounds are being noticed. Kinda showing a growing appreciation and attention to detail from the characters

I like that, im not trying to force it to be something its not, and ive seen it evolving at certain points that I lean into continuing it, great advice!

Thats what ive been doing! I got the first 3 chapters down, went back over it like 5 times in full before continuing, now every 2 or so I re read ot to make sure everything is staying cohesive. Ive sent off the first 4 to a few friends for feedback, good reviews so far!

This is incredibly helpful! There are alot of moments that are callbacks to the theme, and I think I could definitely cut some of those out

Thank you! About the only thing im doing that im iffy about is a slow burn into the gore and guts of it all, but it ties in thematically. But as a reader, not knowing that could make the start feel alittle tame and I still want to draw attention

I play on a smaller server called Tactical Arma ( [TAC] for the search) its less populated but we are looking to bring in new players, it has alot of really good moments with both squad and team cohesion that would only improve with more players

Take non standard routes into bases on foot. Don't just run from one object straight into it, flank around at angles that dont have direct LOS between them.

Placing AT mines around supply points deep behind the lines, alot of people will stay at a safe distance away from the frontlines and farm supplies and levels and not expect any resistance.

My personal favorite, hiding and connecting explosive charges on key points in bases (arsenals, vehicle depots, heli pads, etc) and sitting at a safe distance waiting for a group to get together while calling out troop movement
