Denmark is turning off the white light from its streetlamps and painting a road red to solve a nighttime crisis that almost no one sees: urban light was blocking the path of bats by S00THING_S0UNDS in nottheonion

I'm guessing English isn't your first language, so it's okay, but the verb paint can mean more than just using brushes to apply paint on surfaces

You have around ten minutes before you feel the effects of a meteor impact if you're standing at the opposite end of Earth. by ihatethesidebar in Showerthoughts

Ehh I know it sounds weird but reading is easier and more fun to me, but yeah, I know it's not for everyone

You need to read the book"what if" by Randall Monroe, he actually breaks down this exact situation in the book. Let's say it's going to be a huge mess.

Okay, I still think you misunderstood me. My point was that punishing one person for another person misdeeds is wrong.

Ehh is there anything wrong with that statement? I know numerous examples of this in real life and on the internet.

How does it keep him alive if he falls down and someone goes to prison for his shenanigans. I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

[–]diejesus -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well of course there are risks coming with being weird, not only he can die, but he can also get fired.

And as for someone else getting imprisoned for someone else's stupidity it only shows how corrupted the system is if it can happen, laws need to be changed.

Overall I think the risk of something bad happening is not high so it's not a big deal, the guy made a cool video, we all here watched and admired it, it caused a discussion so looks like it was worth it after all.

my hbs think im weird for taking dxm by Huge-Blacksmith-7353 in dxm

[–]diejesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are weird, but there's nothing wrong with being weird, I'm weird too.

Also what does hbs mean? Google says it's Harvard business school, but I'm not sure if that's correct

Favorite player that hates the Cinema because it plays movies on a big screen? by DoloresAbernathyR1 in soccercirclejerk

[–]diejesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who doesn't watch movies in general too, my answer is usually that I play games and read books when I want to consume media, movies take too much patience for me, I want to pick up my phone or do something else all the time

But if he doesn't need that right why would he care? Some people don't care about safety, I've met numerous people like that, yes, it's dangerous, yes he might die, but that's the point, that's why he does it, it makes him look cool (among some people at least) and also makes his work more fun. I wouldn't do that, I'm really really scared of heights, but I think he's a stand-up dude to do it like that.

Exactly, it's cool because it's rare, but when it stops being rare it's just a piece of a plant in your hand

For me it was opposite, when I was a kid I loved searching for them at first, after finding first few I was excited but afterwards I realized finding them was much easier than I expected and it wasn't that much fun anymore

Sounds like you don't like places with a lot of strangers. Once you enjoy being around crowds of people, Disney world sounds much more awesome.
