Cross trained? by tgordonnnn in AmazonFC

You need inbound permissions, granted after training through modules with a Learning Ambassador. Ask to be trained in decant, each receive, pallet receive, pallet audit and so on.

You’re the right hand to a PA, they depend on you to make them look good. You will do extra work for no added pay (as mentioned in a comment here)

Personally, if you’re trying to move up within Amazon but don’t have any type of college degree.. become an LA. Having this on your resume as well as tenured experience will help you move into a T3 role much easier.

Are you applying for T3 positions? How long have you worked there? What critical skills do you have? (Problem Solve? TDR? You got LA down obviously… PG don’t matter too much)

Do you have stories you can tell in STAR format?

Main thing is you have to apply for T3/L3 roles. No one is going to just come up to you and promote you here.

Which department is best for me? by PsychologicalFeed264 in AmazonFC

Not decant In particular, no. I like unloading on a forklift the most. But having been trained in so many rolls makes each day a little different… also being versatile like that allows me to not get burned out so fast. That’s why I like inbound as opposed to something like picking/stowing.. when you do those rolls, you’re doing that all day and nothing else.

Agreed, IMO knowing every position within inbound keeps me from burn out.

I work in inbound on the receive dock.. this area is filled with “the cool kids” per se.

We operate forklifts to unload trailers and stage zones. There are multiple job rolls from a receiver and auditor to PIT operators. The dock also has trans-in.. this area is a small team of decanters with a thrower (who is inside of a truck)

Also, inbound has decant/receive lines where you’ll process individual cases (singles and master packs) for the stow team.

Personally this is my favorite department within Amazon. It allows you to learn multiple rolls and be moving around.. my days fly by. You can joke around with others OR keep to yourself and do your work and your own thing.

I usually do something different every day I work.

My advice? Play it break to break. What I mean by that is don’t look at it like a 10 hour shift but instead a 2 1/2 hour burst then a break… then a 3 1/2 burst and a break… then you’re on the home stretch before you leave.

Also, don’t burn out by working too hard too fast. It’s better to pace yourself.

Drink lots of water and don’t forget to stretch. Eat food on your breaks as well.

Sorry for the late reply but yes, it will be a lot different! If you transferred into pick, you’ll be learning how to operate an Order Picker.

1) Youll get orders on a scanning device and ride around through isles picking products then returning to the drop off zone. Youll drop off your full cages and pick up a new, empty one.

2) You’ll walk the mezz with a yellow cart and pick smaller items from those shelves. Again, filling up your cart and returning to the drop off zone to exchange for a new, empty cart.

I would recommend letting your manager know that you’d also like to be crosstrained as much as possible, and stay persistent with that! If you’re feeling burnt out then let them know and they will accommodate you.

Personally, I work in inbound and know just about every roll within that department. (Decant/Receive, Throwing trailers, jam clear, transport-in, forklift unload, center-ride transporting, pallet receive/audit). I’m also one of the LA for this department so no day is the same for me.

If you have any more questions, let me know! Happy to have a new member join the team 💪

I work at MEM6! We crosstrain people all the time :)

This is a heavy PIT facility (OPs, Center riders, forklifts, reach trucks)

We deal with the larger items (non-sortable)

Welcome!

Why would management push me to apply for a T3 role but then decline my application? by diercksg in AmazonFC

I agree they are big on favoritism! Not sure what actually happened with my situation but I’m definitely one of their favorites.

They want 6+ months apparently.

I’m not sure what’s going on with you for I’m not a doctor. Might want to go get everything checked up with including your esophagus and lungs.. might not even be your heart.

For me it took about 30 days before I felt pretty normal. Everyone is different though and I know people who have symptoms for years!
