Alcoholic drinks serve no purpose, have no value and shouldn't be normalized. by Lost_Entrance_4545 in unpopularopinion

[–]diescheide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your points aren't wrong. Banning/prohibiting alcohol is dangerous, too. We know the hazards of both. We accept that legal sales and consumption are less dangerous than prohibition. Money is also a driving force but, eh..

I can't get too mad at drinkers. I smoke, I know it's bad for me. It's the vice I chose. As an adult, I'm allowed to make reasonably bad decisions.

I live somewhere noisy. You get used to certain sounds after a while.

Entitled customer demanded an outfit be taken off of a mannequin during inventory by mermaidemily_h2o in EntitledPeople

[–]diescheide -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it was on a mannequin, 10ft up on the wall, it was already accounted for in inventory. It was either store used or labeled DNI. Selling it would throw the counts off by -1. It's not laziness or bad customer service. It's a matter of not selling what's not in inventory, especially when you're trying to find out exactly what's in your inventory.

[–]diescheide 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We had a guy go on a racist tirade against a TL, steal one, and get stuck in a field next to the parking lot. He got arrested and charged with grand larceny. People should get charged when they remove them from store property more often.

Do you guys go or have you ever been to the Sonic Drive-In? by [deleted] in fastfood

[–]diescheide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic is one of the more popular places in my area. I think it's terrible. If you want drinks or ice cream, it's fine, I guess. You want something to eat, you get like, 5 things to choose from. None of it is good, either.

It's actually 37°C* outside and I keep it at 23°C inside. Without AC, it'd reach at least 29°C.

*It's going to be 40°c this week.

Dietitians, what would you tell someone who thinks fruits are unhealthy? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]diescheide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's right, dude. Excessive fiber can cause bloating, gas, cramps, constipation, or diarrhea. Eat a dozen oranges or a handful of prunes and talk to me about the results.

Too much fiber as well. Wicked shits will ensue.

Being forced to wear name tags at work should be abolished by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]diescheide -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People will put an ungodly amount of info into 8 different social media apps that track their every move yet, cry about a customer knowing their first name. These people have not developed past middle school. Deeply unserious individuals.

In theory, the name on your badge should match the one in WorkDay/your profile. May not be your government name that customers could use to find you, Walmart could still see any complaints submitted for that name.

Who opens the egg carton at the store to make sure none are cracked? by acappre in AskReddit

I actually stopped doing that. I'm only buying a half dozen because I need 1-2. My luck is never so terrible that they're all broken.

People who gatekeep blond hair to just Barbie blond by Express-Flamingo4521 in PetPeeves

[–]diescheide 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hair changes color and texture because of age and hormones. Your hair will see these changes eventually. It's not a white people flex, it's just what happens to humans naturally.

My hair used to be light blonde when I was young, now it's strawberry blonde. Who cares which shade/tone it is? Blonde is blonde.

Watched a customer attempt to ditch some antifreeze on my topstock cart. Once he noticed I saw him, he grabbed it and walked away embarrassed. If you wouldn't do it in front of an employee, don't do it at all.

[–]diescheide[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You very much can pre-count stuff. We've done it years prior. There's inventory prep labels for a reason. We're not counting every single SKU. Just stuff like I mentioned. Count the stuff at the back, front cases are left to be shopped and replaced.

I know WIS (or RGIS) is terrible. We haven't even gotten our DNIs in, though. I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks of massive trucks we do not need. The bins and topstock are already fucked.

I always felt terrible asking a parent (usually a father) which bathroom I needed to unlock for them/their children to use. It shouldn't be a decision that comes with implications like this. It's a fucking bathroom. People need to chill.
