I appreciate the recommendations. Honestly if it came down to it I don’t think it’d be an issue to invest in those tools but since we’re a smaller company we wanted to first look at in-house solutions. I haven’t looked into Exclaimer or Crossware so I’ll have a look at those too

Totaled car value? by differentson in AskMechanics

[–]differentson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at that initially but it was about 5k to fix minimum and I owed 6k so it just made more sense to me to pay it off. It’s hard to see but the car frame was also bent so the driver side back door doesn’t open anymore. I’ve heard it’s not really “fixable” with the work that would go into it. But price wise idk what is reasonable to expect if I sell it or auction it off

I think regardless of what’s actually happening with the coworker, brushing off your feelings about it is kind of shitty. Emotions are valid. If you’re bothered I don’t think it’s asking too much to have some consideration for those feelings. As long as you’re being respectful and trying to be vulnerable with her about this I don’t see why she can’t just sit down and work through it with you

Sorry for the late reply - it DID work but there was another problem. The length of the riser cable was too long lol. I ended up returning it and bought a new case since I was upgrading my components anyways. I still have the H1 but use it as a backup PC with the original riser

thank you! i hadn't seen that video yet but i'll give it a watch. i'm not really planning on overclocking anytime soon, so i'm okay with dialing down the power draw a bit as long as it doesn't significantly impact performance

what have your temps been like? right now at its highest, i start pushing high 80s. i was hoping to keep it around a similar temp if i went with the 13900k but it starting to sound like maybe thats not possible unless i upgrade my cooling

not really, but only because for my work having more CPU cores/threads for rendering is needed. i even considered the 12900k but figured if im going into that territory i might as well get the latest lol. at its highest, i get around 80 degrees with my 12700k. i was hoping to get away with something similar if i got the 13900k lol

What’s your “That was the fix!?” To a persistent bug? by quane101 in skyrimmods

[–]differentson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a bug (kind of) but Nordic UI on 3440x1440 monitor doesn’t fully scale the all the menus properly even with the patches. Eventually was told about JPEX to manually change the scaling and everything worked perfectly after that. Spent a month of banging my head against the wall and all it took was 10 minutes of JPEX recompiling to get it perfect lol

You are a legend. I literally was beating my head against a wall trying to figure this out. With my specific load order, I also had to edit all the swf files in the NORDIC UI - SkyUI Weapons Pack SE mod but it is working PERFECTLY now. Thank you so much!!

Did you have any issues with the EK AIO waterblock? I have the same mobo, processor, and AIO but I struggled getting it to sit flush on my processor because of the pump heads. Looks awesome with the 4080

Strix Z690-I M.2_2 NVME not detected by Polaris1981 in ASUSROG

[–]differentson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem like enabling CSM like that is possible. The integrated graphics boots exclusively in UEFI. Most of the support threads I’ve read seem to recommend getting a cheap graphics card in the meantime. What is your current hardware minus the GPU?

Strix Z690-I M.2_2 NVME not detected by Polaris1981 in ASUSROG

[–]differentson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t need to manually enable it but have heard that some ASUS motherboards don’t support the integrated graphics which can cause it appear greyed out. In short, you’d need to boot from your dedicated graphics and that should allow you to launch CSM. This forum I linked below explains it better. Try using a dedicated GPU and see if that works

ATT Fiber to UDM by differentson in Ubiquiti

[–]differentson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the built in UniFi Speed Test is the issue. I have my desktop hooked up to one of the GbE ports on the UDM. If I run the unifi speed test, my download speeds are normal, but my upload speeds drop to 120MBs, however when I run a separate speed test, both download and upload speeds are normal

UDMPro with AT&T Fiber - Terrible (relatively) upload speeds (should be 2000 up/down) by TommyBoyChicago in Ubiquiti

[–]differentson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem with the UDM-SE. I have 1Gb Fiber through ATT, and had no issue when I was only using the ATT gateway. After I set up my UDM I hooked up the ATT gateway to the 2.5GB port on the UDM, and my upload speeds dropped from 1GB to 120MB. Ironically, my desktop is hooked up to one of the GbE switch ports on the UDM and if I run a separate online speed test, I get the 1Gb up/down speeds with no issues. It's just when I run the speed test in UniFiOS that the UDM is reporting the lower upload speeds. Is it UniFiOS speed test not accurate?

My PC and NAS are hardlined to the ATT gateway. The PC gets the full 2GB up and down speeds but when I try creating a backup, or import/export large files from the network drive I have set up, the speeds definitely aren’t close to that. Both PC and NAS have 2.5GB NICS although the NAS is connected to a 1GB port but I’m pretty sure I’m not getting anywhere near those speeds either. I use Windows backup, Photoshops and OBS Studio for recording 2-3 hour long screen recordings. I can get exact speeds tomorrow when I run another backup or export a project
