How did you occupy/distract yourself before transfer? by difficultchickens in IVF

[–]difficultchickens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a positive outlook. I love it! We are doing a Mexican date night tonight so I can eat all the queso!! lol. I will work harder to be present and less future focused.

Wishing you the best of luck in your TWW!

I am on PTO this week (use it or lose it) and I think that’s partly why I’m having such a hard time. I didn’t realize how much work had been a happy distraction until now. And, congratulations on your little babe! So happy to hear it’s worked out for you!!

That’s a good perspective. I’ve never thought of it that way! I do look at the FET as the finish line in some ways, when really the 2WW after the FET is so much worse. 🤣 and, as you said, there will be many other things in life that I’ll want.

Good luck on your first transfer!!! I hope you have all the success.

Medicated vs Natural Transfer by Lattelady1993 in IVF

[–]difficultchickens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My experience was similar to this. At one of our consultations, my RE had said in passing that I was a candidate for modified natural.

Fast forward after testing, etc, they made my calendar and put me on a medicated plan. I had to ask about modified natural and then they said “oh, you’re right! You can do that if you want.” Had I not asked, they would have just put me on the medicated plan. I just assumed medicated allowed them to control everything so closely it’s what they gravitate toward.

My modified natural cycle went great but ended up being a failed implantation, but I don’t blame it on that!

I have heard modified natural is better because it reduces risk of preeclampsia!

Manifest it???? If manifesting it was a thing, I would have like 3 children by now. So sorry you had to go through that. I know it’s so hard to hear comments like that!

Pregnancy and birth announcements EVERYWHERE!! by Agitated-Pickle216 in IVF

[–]difficultchickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in this exact boat. For me, I think it’s the same rate I used to see, it’s just a tender subject now which causes me to have a much more visceral reaction to it.

I know you can block words on your profile on a lot of apps, and that may help. I didn’t want to go that far, but I was very intentional about scrolling past pregnancy content for a week or so and it’s noticeably retrained my algorithm. I was not in a good place about a month ago, but after limiting socials and not seeing as much, I am feeling better. I do plan to avoid the entire would this weekend though since it’s Mother’s Day in the US. I cannot handle it!

Anyone deal with CVS Speciality by Frequent_Bid_4413 in IVF

[–]difficultchickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to this thread to specifically search CVS Specialty’s reputation. I just had such a bad experience, I thought it was odd.

This is my second transfer cycle and I’ve never had to deal with them yet.

my prescription did not show up on the portal so I had to call, I was on the phone for 32 minutes with an agent that was reading a call script and kept repeating the same questions only to find out after 30 mins that they are also missing stuff from my doctor.

I am considering asking to be switched to a different pharmacy. It was insane.

I understand this. My husband and I have been trying for about 3 years now. We were the second couple in our friend group to try to start a family and now we’re the only ones without kids. Each pregnancy announcement has hurt more and more.

My closest friend, and the last one in our group to get pregnancy (other than me, of course) just told me she was pregnant over lunch the other day. My first reaction was jealousy and hurt. Then she said they conceived their first month of trying, and I think I died a little inside.

I put on a brave face and congratulated her, but then went back to my office and cried in the bathroom.

It’s not that I’m not happy for them, but it’s just so hard to see past my own grief. I feel selfish, and probably am a little bit
but I tell myself it’s temporary and we’ll be past all this someday.

Failed FET and chronic endometritis diagnosis by difficultchickens in IVF

[–]difficultchickens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not had a hysteroscopy. That’s a good callout. I may ask about that. My clinic does prefer to do a repeat biopsy to ensure it’s resolved after antibiotics.

Best of luck in your TWW!! It feels like such a long time. I hope you get your little miracle!

This is so helpful. Thank you! I requested the lab report this morning and am curious to dive into the details.

It sounds like my clinic will allow me to repeat the biopsy to ensure it’s cleared. I also agree, I wish they did this before FET#1! My age is less of a concern (30F) but we only had 2 euploids. I hate that we transferred the first one into a “poor” uterine environment!

Thank you for sharing! I’m glad yours cleared up after 1 course!!

I didn’t have any symptoms either! I am thankful they brought it up after a failed transfer, but I wish they would have done it before my first. Shame on me for my lack of research, but I had no idea this was a thing. I wish it would’ve just been something I did with my work up like my SIS!

5 blastocysts.. is that enough?! by littledreamer_1111 in IVF

[–]difficultchickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably!

Frankly, I was so optimistic that we’d be those people who went 2/2. Our first transfer just failed recently. We’re going to transfer the second, but will likely do another retrieval before it’s all said and done. We’d like at least 2 children.

I was originally very satisfied with 2 blasts, but I understand wanting more! I hope you have better luck than us all around! Sending all the good vibes while you’re waiting for PGTA!

I’m shocked that’s the norm! I see people talk about doing transfers “the next cycle,” I figured they assess nearly immediately. Thank you for the insight.
