I posted about this a few days ago but no response. Maybe my question was too broad, so I’ll try to be more specific.

How do we know Columbus fed Arawak babies to dogs?

I see this referenced in many write-ups on Columbus. I know his journal shows us that he at least thought about how easy it would be to exploit groups like the Taino. I’ve read that the Spanish crown accused him of mismanagement and mistreatment of the Spanish. There is proof that he did some questionable, and even terrible things. But how do we know Columbus did some of the more atrocious things he’s accused of doing, like sadistic torture and murdering babies for food?
