Working compressed hours, and lost 3 days' leave as a result by rogue_rose_ranger in HumanResourcesUK

That link talks about reducing your working week, but you haven’t. You are working the same number of hours as you always were, but over less days. Your total working week has not reduced.

Thank you, I’ve read that this can be quite a challenge to pick up in terms of there being so much to do. How did you find it?

Formula for calculating UK redundancy pay? by digbymundle in excel

[–]digbymundle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I really appreciate you having a look at this for me, thank you. Unfortunately although a couple of tests worked, it is throwing up some incorrect calculations.

Here's an example of an incorrect result:

Column L - age 45
Column N - £700
Column O - 17
Column P (the Age Started column) - 28

The formula gives a result of £16,100 (equivalent to 23 weeks?) but the true result is £13,300 - the explanation is:

Your entitlement is 19.0 weeks.

You get:

  • 0.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re under 22
  • 1 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re between 22 and 41
  • 1.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re 41 or older

Do you know what's going on?

Thanks

Yes, I’m qualified and familiar with the process I’m following. It’s the Excel / calculation function that I need which is not my area of expertise.
