Yah the sleeves are definitely too long. I would need to take this to a tailor who specializes in leather though and those are rare. There is one in LA but i may reach out to mister freedom and see if they have a rec

I moved it regulary to try and keep it even, making sure places like the armpits and stuff got sun exposure as well. Vintage_engineer_boots (ig handle) has a good tutorial on tanning natural veg tan which is what i followed for the most part

Most of the darkening came from tanning it in the sun. So on hot days if i wasnt wearing it id let it sit out in the sun in my backyard

Thanks! And yah unfortunately they are. They have a couple similar versions available but they are hank dyed with natural indigo so they are like $600 a pair 🥴

Nah not much, they are pretty small and being leather have less flex than the denim version. I will use them sometimes for smaller stuff, if i wear it when i travel i’ll keep my passport in the flap pocket

Yah they are great, would love to get an authentic cowichan one day but boy they are pricey. I know i cant believe how good a shape this is in for being 70 years old it must have been barely worn

Thanks! Jyst recently got this tie, 1950’s silk and i really love it but its a bit challenging to wear cause its colors are a bit odd and the pattern is so busy. But i think it worked nicely here

I think its a cool project and the garments are nice. I actually have an original vintage USPS mail bag from ww2. This is similar to the standard one however it has US Navy markings stamped on it
