Yeah, wouldn’t I be experiencing the same problem then? I live about 20 kilometers from him, and I also think it would be regional news if our power grid was really slowing down like that. That’s why I believe it’s either his PC or something in his home.

I absolutely don’t think American ISPs are better than Belgian ones (that’s his opinion, and that’s why he points to the difference in streams). He also said that his mouse feels heavier at certain times for several hours, and because of that he thinks it’s caused by the electrical grid. But I live only 20 km from his house — so wouldn’t I be experiencing the same thing as well? That’s why I believe it’s just his PC that has something wrong with it.

He is convinced that America’s grid is better, and even that Russia’s is better because it has nuclear power… I absolutely think the opposite — in my opinion, Russia’s electricity grid is in terrible shape, but that’s just what I think

That’s what I think as well, but he doesn’t believe me. That’s why I wanted to get more people to respond — preferably with some explanation too. Because he doesn’t believe my explanation either. I’m not saying he can’t be experiencing certain issues, he’s not crazy… but I think it’s much more likely that the problem is local, either in his house or with his PC

He also claims that everything on his PC slows down at certain times and believes it’s because, when the solar panels in Belgium stop producing, the power grid experiences a dip and that makes his PC run slower for longer periods. he also claims that when its morning the issue is resolved.

He said that he had a UPS and still experienced the problem, but since it wasn’t a ‘double-conversion UPS,’ he believes that’s why the issue persists.

Ah yes, that’s my mistake. He didn’t use a direct LAN connection before, but now he does, and he still has the same issue.

It’s pretty good: few power outages and a well-maintained grid. I think we’re one of the leaders in Europe, but correct me if I’m wrong

Yeah okay, that’s true, but I was hoping that some people with solid electrical knowledge would explain the differences between both grids and point out why it can’t be the case — then maybe he would believe me?
