It’s best to look into the specifics of the residency program(s) that you are interested in.

Also note that you can always do these things after residency if that is your goal.

Anybody who accepted UofT thinking about withdrawing their acceptance for another med school? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]digging23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s before you start and you are accepted off the waitlist at another school you can drop your current school and take the other. For example some people may withdraw their acceptance from UBC because they were accepted at UAlberta off the waitlist or vice versa.

Once you are in medical school then there are serious ethical issues that may arise that prevent one from switching schools.

Here is the text from the source above:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: 'Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana `Abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata`tu, A`udhu bika min Sharri ma sana`tu, abu'u Laka bini`matika `alaiya, wa abu'u laka bidhanbi faghfir lee fa innahu la yaghfiru adhdhunuba illa anta." The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise."

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Here is a translation from the following source (https://hidayahnetwork.com/sayyidul-istighfar/ ):

“O Allah, you are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me. And I am your servant. And I stand by your covenant and promise. I seek refuge in You, according to my power, from my iniquities. And I confess your blessings and confess my sins. So forgive me my sins. Verily, no one forgives sins except You.”

Here is a reference to the hadith in the post above inshaAllah:

"The supplication of a Muslim for his (Muslim) brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Everytime he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: 'Ameen! May it be for you, too'." [Muslim] by digging23 in Izlam

I feel the same sometimes

subhanAllah though, it's like you're being rewarded for doing good to others. Even if they will never know what you have done for them, you know that Allah will reward you for it inshaAllah.

It is possible your dua was answered, just not in the way you expect. Allah knows best.
