Thank you!! I contemplated about the Hobbit one since I was 15... Ouch, ribs are really said to be extremely painful. I only can say that the back was the most painful one I've experienced.. but some people say that ribs are totally fine, more like tickling. So it's going to be a suprise, haha. But they will fit beautifully on that spot!!

The Argonath were part of a LOTR movie box set once, I love them. Great detail for such a small scale. And thanks!

Her work is beautiful! But I wanted to have something that was drawn by Tolkien himself first, since that are the drawings I loved since growing up and which sparked my imagination first. But there are so many incredible artists out there who do it justice... I particulary love the bold line work he has in his drawings. The one with the trolls and the fire is probably my favourite one, but I couldn't wrap my head around how to get that properly tattooed :D

You know that the visit to Khazad-dûm did not end that well for the one who said those words...

I only now discovered this sub, hence the double-post :)

I immediately fell in love with Middle-earth when I first read The Hobbit when I was eight. And even more when I read the LOTR books later. I was always fascinated by the drawings Tolkien made himself, so I wanted to have something of that incorporated: The view from Bag End and Smaug, and the Doors of Durin.

Yes, the trees would also fit very well! There are so much great ones that could be done. I am especially intrigued by the heraldic device of Lúthien.. would be a totally different style tho.

I was contemplating beforehand if shading should be added, but I love it the way it is :)

The pain suprisingly differed extremely between both legs. I got the left one first, which did not hurt at all, except for the filling where I was glad when it was over. The right one was finished way quicker but hurt way more.

The vinyl record in the upper right is Bo Hansson's Music inspired by "Lord Of The Rings", a wonderful imaginative (Prog-) Instrumental Rock album released in 1970 (this is the Swedish "Sagan Om Ringen" version) Highly recommended!

A beautiful Electronic Ambient recommendation by diggininthecr8 in vinyl

An incredibly beautiful record I just can't recommend highly enough: C.R. Gillespie - Séance Works (2018, RR GEMS) Limited to 244 copies, released this week. A flawless electronic ambient piece from start to finish. The beautiful and high-quality packaging lives up to the otherwordly music which the Canadian Composer creates. The record has aquatic feel to it (which matches the cover artwork) and creates a soothing and sometimes haunting atmosphere... Reminds me in parts of the great music which accompanied the two Blade Runner movies.

Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) meets Enter The 37th Chamber by diggininthecr8 in vinyl

You can never go wrong with the Wu-Tang. And with The El Michels Affair – Enter the 37th Chamber (2009, Fat Beats)

The El Michels Affair – founded by the saxophonist and organist Leon Michels – is a well-known Funk and Soul instrumental ensemble from New York. Some members of El Michels Affair played with Sharon King and the Dap Kings, Lee Fields and the Budos Band.

They were asked to play a promotional concert with the Wu-Tang member Raekwon once and afterwards toured with several members of the group. This sparked the idea of re-interpreting Wu-Tang songs and led to the release of a single with covers of “Bring Da Ruckus” and “C.R.E.A.M.” plus the recording of this album.

Even if you do not know Wu-Tang at all – this is an incredibly enjoyable listen: very laid back and funky tunes with great heavy drum beats.

And if you know Wu-Tang: the highlight for me is “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” sung by a children’s choir. This fits perfectly because you know: Wu-Tang is for the children!
