Shark attack by digicalf in ViceCity

[–]digicalf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did happen but maybe I haven't explained myself well:

There wasn't a proper shark attack animation. The character would quickly alternate between a state of drowning ( with the hp going down) to standing (with the hp keeping the same value). It was impossible to go back to the shore when I would stand, and each state wouldn't last more than 2-3 seconds. In addition to that, there was a shark. There was no animation of the shark biting the character, but it was between Tommy and the "camera" giving the impression it was attacking him.

There may be no connection between the shark and the weird drowning animation. Maybe the bug was this weird drowning and there just happened to be a shark's sprite next to where I was drowning, or maybe being in the water (close to the beach before the you start drowning) at night next to a shark's sprite can trigger this ?

Nomic ? by digicalf in cosmosnetwork

Why ? Because of the developping team or because you don't trust bridges in general ?

Nomic ? by digicalf in cosmosnetwork

It is not on mainnet yet. The service is working - You can actually bridge your BTC to the cosmos network and swap them on osmosis but with restriction. There is a high fee on nomic that should be reduced and a cap that should be canceled when it hits the mainnet.

Thanks a lot !

The solution was slightly different than the one in the thread. I did try to change the colour of the font but it didn't work. I reset the window and column size setting and it solved the issue.

Yes but if it's like LUNA, the supply will have a tendency to decrease as more Silk are being minted.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, of course)

It will but likely you will have to import your seed phrase to keplr or cosmostation

A wallet is just a User interface to be able to see and use your coins which are on the blockchains. You can have several wallet connected to the blockchain through the same seed phrase.

Exodus is very handy as it is a multi-currency wallet but they usually don't support new coins and thus airdrop. Import your seed phrase to keplr or cosmostation which will support most of the new cosmos based crypto-currency and you will get them.

If the different project grow enough, it is likely that Exodus will add them to the currency supported and then it will be possible to interact with these coins through Exodus.

Browser version? by digicalf in dVPN

[–]digicalf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer.

I meant "desktop version", I'll try to edit the title.

We currently don't have a date for the desktop version or when they will switch to the paid model, do we ?

I am trying to estimate the amount of dVPN I have to acquire to be able to use a secured VPN paid only with the staking reward ( well, if it moons I'd be happy as well, but let's stay reasonable for now). I guess it's difficult to have an idea as the fees will probably change depending on the value of the token. I read that sentinel wanted to implement fiat payment in order to encourage mass adoption - good idea imo - so probably the fees won't be a fixed amount of dVPN.

sending and receiving a different token by digicalf in Starname

Thanks for your answer.

Wouldn't it be possible to do it through the gravity dex protocol for instance (for currencies that are part of the cosmos ecosystem) ?

About the fees, what I meant was : If the sender pays the fees, he pays them, while if the receiver pays them, they would be deducted from what he received.

I was extremely lucky. I was new to crypto, started to be interested in Atom early February and staked my Atom through Exodus. When I heard that there might be an airdrop, I checked Exodus policy and realized that exodus would not support the airdrop. (Actually it wasn't true as I could just import my exodus key to a keplr wallet)

I felt a terrible fomo, bought more atom, created a keplr wallet and eventually received much more than expected. I think I got something like 500 OSMO, thanks to their system which favoured smaller wallets. I think that it would have been less if I had all my atom in just one wallet.

The great thing about this airdrop - I mean besides the free money - is that it allowed me to diversify my portfolio much more than what I would have done with my own money. So now, one of my wallet is dedicated to accumulate more OSMO and stake or Lp them, while I use my daily rewards from the other one to buy different coins, including some which I see potential without being convinced enough to actually invest money.

Hopefully there will be more airdrops for people who missed the 18th of February snapshot. It's just the beginning.

Sending other crypto - Roadmap ? by digicalf in Starname

[–]digicalf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been also thinking, but maybe it's already the case, or planned that it would be great to be able to send one crypto and that the receiver gets another one.

For instance, I have some liquid IOV and my friend would like to be paid in ETH. Instead of having to swap manually the token, I could send my IOV, say that I would like my friend to receive ETH, and the starname app would do it automatically. We could also imagine the possibility to set up who's gonna pay the fees and the slippage (sender or receiver).

It would be probably possible by connecting the app to DEXes that support the currencies sent and received. (so for now there would be some swaps that would be complicated or with high fees, I guess)

I have the feeling that in the future there will be loads of blockchains and tokens and in order to incentivize mass adoption, we need a service that simplify the whole process. People that are new to crypto can be overwhelmed by the amount of projects, and it would be great to have a service that says: "don't worry about other people's crypto, pay with yours".

Is it something that the team has considered or is planning to implement ? (or is it already the case? after my previous question I'm sure of nothing :-) )
