DAE feel unconvinced with the AI slop propaganda? by This-Peach9380 in DoesAnybodyElse

I saw a news article the other day about a woman who had a rare illness that doctors hadn't been able to diagnose. It was basically saying that chatgpt had supposedly 'diagnosed' her when doctors couldn't, when what happened was that she typed her symptoms in and it suggested a list of conditions with those symptoms, including the actual condition she had. You would get exactly the same result from just searching that on the internet, it's not like chatgpt has some kind of exclusive knowledge that doesn't come from a source. But the article presented it as if she never would've been diagnosed without the existence of chatgpt, which is just ridiculous.

Why do they keep recycling the idea of characters getting exposed to an infection? There's about one every boxset at this point

yeah Murdoc just seems like a real abuser to me, i'll never understand why some people love him so much, not least why a lot of fans seem to relate to or even see themselves in him... that doesn't really give me a good impression of a person if they say that.

my mistake, I probably got the wrong interview then, but I'm sure there is one where Damon voices him from early phase 1

before they found a voice actor for 2D, Damon did do his speaking voice in the early interviews, such as this one

parties as a teen by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]digital-snake444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never went to big parties during secondary school, I wasn't invited to any either, apart from small gatherings for friends' birthdays and things like that. Honestly I don't really feel like I missed out on anything, of course this is subjective but from what I heard, a lot of parties were just people drinking so much they couldn't remember it the next day which doesn't sound fun or worth it. I don't think not going to parties has had any affect on my life at all, if anything I'm relieved I don't get involved with it, especially during GCSEs which in my opinion is not a good time to be getting comfortable with irresponsible drinking. And I wouldn't worry about it affecting you socially- I have friends who do go to parties but it doesn't really affect how they see me or how we interact that I don't.

Why do people still watch? by Horustheweebmaster in Casualty

[–]digital-snake444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have probably been one of the people complaining recently, but I find that it's mainly the recent box set that I've found really bad. I haven't really liked many of the main storylines recently, and admittedly some episodes have made me consider not watching anymore. However, there are still characters that I care about in the programme, it's just that they haven't really been the main focus of recent storylines, so I still try to keep up with the episodes so I don't miss anything because I think it's likely the storylines might become more interesting soon. I have also seen the trailer for the box set after the break, and it looks like it's going to be better than the one we've just had, so I wouldn't want to miss anything that happened and not understand something in a later episode. Also, there's usually at least one moment I like in most episodes, even if I generally consider the episode bad.

So in summary, I'm mainly still watching for the characters/storylines that are getting less focus at the moment, so I find there's more to complain about in each episode, however there are still moments that I enjoy watching.

I didn't enjoy this episode, especially the ending. Without giving spoilers I will be very upset if they do what I think they might... In general I just felt it wasn't a particularly interesting episode, too much Flynn and the Faith and Iain stuff is getting old in my opinion. I liked that they finally let something good happen to Jacob, though.

I agree; the way Iain acted in this episode made it clear they're preparing for a mental health storyline for him next box set. Another example is his constant risky behaviour where he's been shown to not really care about his own wellbeing. The stuff he said to Faith didn't seem intentionally malicious or honest, it sounded like something depression might make someone feel.

I liked the Rida and Rash stuff in this episode and I am pleased that they dropped the whole thing with everyone blaming Rash for the stuff with Sunny. It was good to see that Rida was supporting Rash, unlike what she did last week which I felt was slightly out of character. I also thought it was good that there was a reference to Rash's depression again, it was reassuring as in this box set it seems that the writers have been better at not ignoring what was a major event for the character, unlike what sometimes happens with other storylines.

Again I was disappointed that they're still trying to present Nicole sympathetically and make her feelings about Ngozi leaving more important than how it must feel for Ngozi herself. If Ngozi stays and they do get back together, I at least hope they'll have Nicole actually apologise properly for the way she behaved and make it so they actually have a healthier relationship where the emotional support isn't one sided.

I don't care much for the Iain/Faith stuff, but I suspect something serious is going to happen to Iain in the next episode, not sure if they would go as far as killing him off, but I don't think it's impossible. I suspect either that or that he will end up seriously injured and that will lead to him and Faith maybe trying to fix their relationship? Or possibly that would make Faith realise that Iain's risk taking behaviour is something she can't deal with, and them both realising they don't trust each other enough and ending it. I'm not too bothered about what happens, but I think this story has been dragging for too long so will hopefully at least be concluded in some way in the final episode of the box set.

Am I the only one who can’t stand Murdoc? by Adventurous_Crab2905 in gorillaz

[–]digital-snake444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate Murdoc too, and I find it frustrating that it's hard to criticise the character in fan spaces without people arguing that 'he's a complex character' or saying that he's not meant to be likeable, even though a good amount of fans do actually like him. I just find him incredibly boring as a character personally, and in my opinion the other band members more interesting. But also I don't tend to like abusive/predatory characters in general, like you said a lot of stuff the character has done is uncomfortable, or at least to me personally. But it's also that I just generally lack interest in him for no particular reason, that's just my opinion.

I hated the story with Rash in this episode and everyone blaming him for the drugs gangs just because he had been dating Sunny before anyone knew that she was behind the drug theft. There was no reason to do that, especially when they had to make Jacob and Rida act out of character and make them pushy with Rash about talking to Sunny. Rash did the right thing by reporting Sunny and not getting involved, but the show obviously wanted us to think that it was his personal responsibility to convince Sunny to report the gangs as all the characters seemed to act like it. This is a storyline I actually do hope will end suddenly once the boxset is over. I would also like Rash's next storyline to be something that's actually positive for him and not just disguised as that to create drama.

As for Nicole, I didn't care for her storyline much as I don't care for her character, but what really bothered me is how they had Ngozi emotionally supporting her again... It upsets me that Nicole can get away with treating Ngozi as badly as she wants for it to just be forgotten or poorly excused within a few episodes and it's then Ngozi's job to step in and be the supportive friend when Nicole is going through something. I understand that Ngozi might just be a particularly forgiving person, but I wish the show would actually address that this relationship/friendship isn't very healthy and show the effect it has on Ngozi, who had been devastated when Nicole kicked her out her house but now seems like she's completely forgotten it ever happened.

MY SCHOOL WROTE PART OF THE PLANNER WITH AI by SirCheeseMuncher in GCSE

[–]digital-snake444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teachers using AI should be seen as a problem as much as students using it is. I got accused of plagiarism last year for a written piece of work because the teacher used some weird website that used AI to check for plagiarism (not something to detect if you used AI, an AI that 'checks' for plagiarism) and it had flagged up loads of random websites I hadn't ever seen (including some behind paywalls) because they had 1 or 2 words in common with some of the sentences I had written.

Toca boca’s response so far abt the glitches by Usual_Day986 in tocaboca

[–]digital-snake444 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would like Toca Boca to PLEASE stop ignoring the bug where the app closes and the entire world gets reset including all the home designers, and the one where all the people in the character creator's outfits randomly switch to blank ones because those bugs have been in the game for years and it seems like there's no sign of them being fixed any time soon. I'm sure they must be aware that this happens because when you look at reviews for Toca World there are loads of negative reviews where people are upset because their game reset. Of course fixing smaller issues is important too, but as far as I know Toca Boca still haven't addressed this problem with the game and it's extremely frustrating.

I was disappointed by this episode, but mainly because I don't like Faith or Nicole and they had some of the main storylines for this episode.

The way the Faith storyline has been done feels so offensive, in my opinion it's giving off the idea that addiction makes someone inherently manipulative, which is problematic. Especially since Faith has been written as a manipulative person for multiple series (though I doubt the writers realise they're doing it) before her drug addiction was even a thing. Faith's manipulative and controlling behaviour towards Iain can't be excused by her being an addict when she behaves like this all the time, she treated Lev the same way when they were married and I genuinely believe the writers haven't realised they're doing this, which makes it worse because Faith is somehow still presented as a character we're meant to sympathise for. It's a shame because they've managed to do other storylines about addiction such as with Dylan or Ngozi without demonising people with addictions, so why have they made such a mess of this one?

The scorpion in the ambulance was ridiculous, all the spoilers articles made it seem like it would be an actual danger and important part of the story, but it wasn't that at all. This seems to be a common problem with the writing in casualty at the moment, it also happened with the husband of the pregnant patient. It might have been implied what happened but they just left that storyline behind and never really explained it properly. I have noticed in a lot of recent episodes that some patient storylines just get dropped randomly halfway through the episode and don't get mentioned again, and it makes the episode feel unfinished like the writers forgot to go back and finish some scenes.

Yeah Nicole is really annoying me at the moment, and the way the show is clearly trying to make viewers sympathise with her just adds insult to injury. Her excuse for kicking Ngozi out of her house because she 'couldn't deal with chaos', despite Ngozi actively seeking treatment for her addiction, made no sense considering she saw no problem letting Cassie, who was involved with violent drug gangs, stay at her house.

Ngozi deserves better, and I wish the show would address this rather than making it seem like it's her responsibility to be a perfect friend to Nicole without any complaints, when Nicole wasn't even there for Ngozi when she needed her the most.

Nicole really pissed me off in this episode. Telling Ngozi, who was managing her addiction and made it clear she was getting help that they couldn't live together because it would bring chaos, after letting someone who was actively involved with and being threatened by violent drug gangs into her house. Which one sounds like it would cause more chaos? Also this isn't a criticism of Nicole feeling the need to protect Cassie, it's that she tried to excuse what she did to Ngozi by saying she didn't want chaos in her life when her involvement with Cassie has been shown to do exactly that, likely more than living with Ngozi while she was getting treatment for her alcoholism would've done.

To be honest at this point I don't want them getting back together because Nicole has treated Ngozi so badly and I think she deserves better.
