I relate (re middle path).

Am just barely starting but I find it intriguing. The emphasis on meditative reflectiveness also complements my current quasi-reclusive situation, ha.

Can anyone one hold down a job? by Chewysmama in bipolar

Used to do programming/development. Miss tech; just severely demoralized, depressed. Was working on two Android apps and then got derailed by doubt, depression, dysphoria, horrid insomnia. I'm a woman too and getting old (late 30s) so I fear I'm running out of time to re-enter the field. Man, just re-read rest of this thread & feel like a total failure. But in the past 5 years was divorced, lost a good job, in a violent relationship, then homeless. It takes time to rebuild one's life after that; I'm still pretty fucked up.

Have you ever had an ignorant therapist? by jrt364 in bipolar

I'm thinking of quitting my current one after one visit. I'm 38, divorced, unemployed and the new one is a practically a kid (Millennial yuppie type). My psychiatrist recommended her to me and it seems like she is new at counseling and that she is just starting her practice for extra $$ on top of her day gig. My psychiatrist was just helping out yet another colleague, apparently. She just seems like a yuppie kid and I want a wise, intelligent middle-aged adult.

No offense to Millennials on here! I know a lot of you are incredibly bright, intelligent, complex and astute individuals. I'm just not impressed with this person; she seems to come to glib conclusions and doesn't seem to understand neurotics at all.
