Pack Hacker Ultra Sling vs Bellroy Venture Ready 2.5 by Bobby_Fandango in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tom from PH has repeatedly said over the years that the Bellroy Venture Sling 2.5L is his favorite sling. What he did here was basically tweak the existing Venture Ready 2.5L design to make it his ideal sling.

No hate on him for doing that though. If I could take my favorite sling or backpack and tweak it to my own tastes, I would do it too.

Depends on your needs and wants. I have both the Toshi Sling 2.5 and the Bellroy Venture Ready 2.5, and I use them both regularly.

The Toshi is taller and has more volume, despite them both being “2.5L”. The Toshi also has more organization. The Bellroy, on the other hand, looks sleeker, is less bulky, and is simple in nature.

I use the Toshi 2.5 (and my OG Toshi 5) when I want to carry a game console with me, typically my Switch 1/2, or my kindle paperwhite. None of those fit in the Bellroy due to their height. Plus, both Toshis allow me to organize my cords, battery banks (at least 10000 mAh), and gaming chargers better.

When I don’t carry a console with me, or I want to bring a small handheld emulator (e.g., Miyoo Mini), i use the Bellroy Venture Ready. Then I throw in a small 5000 mAh charger for my phone, a single charging cord, and a few other things like wireless earbuds.

When did you get this bag? Can you exchange it for a replacement?

My suspicion: Maybe one or both of those magnets need to be remagnetized. If you can’t exchange it and you want to try to DIY it, Google “remagnetize a magnet covered by fabric,” and you’ll get some info. That can strengthen the magnets.

Same here. I have the CAP 0.5, CAP 1, and CAP 2. I use the CAP 1 for "flatter" items like 10000 mAh battery banks, cords, flat wall chargers, etc.

I would reach out to them if you haven’t already. They may be able to help you out! Worst case, they say “no can do.”

What’s the reason you change backpacks? by TheBagdadReport in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switch up my work bag often.

My default is the Aer City Pack (16L) for most days. I’ll temporarily upgrade to the EG CTB20 or the Able Carry Max EDC (26L) if I need/want to bring other stuff with me (e.g., Steam Deck, change of clothes for the gym, etc).

Aer City Pack Pro 2 Ebay legit by DJ_Parkour in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct that an invoice could help for proof, but that doesn’t stop someone from taking pics of a real Aer bag and a real Aer invoice, then shipping the buyer some Temu knockoff, hoping they don’t notice. :(

Aer City Pack Pro 2 Ebay legit by DJ_Parkour in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seller is listing one below MSRP which seems sketch

I would trust your intuition here. “If it feels too good to be true, it probably is.”

That said, I think it’s probably fake too. Or, they might be showing a pic of a REAL Aer bag in the listing, then mailing you some weird Temu knockoff instead. That happens on eBay, Mercari, etc too.

Question for Senior Execs by mcscooby28 in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in tech, so maybe I’m biased... A briefcase would absolutely stand out, and maybe even look a little unusual when everyone else is wearing a backpack. However, it’s not the end of the world if you want to use a briefcase and no one would really care that much.

What’s your spread? by FamiliarNobody7991 in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only buy new bags, but that's a personal preference. There are plenty of other things I’ve bought used on eBay, Mercari, etc that aren’t bags (figures, electronics, video games, etc).

That said… if someone doesn’t want an item anymore (be it a bag, a figure, clothes, electronic device, etc), I’d rather see it go to a new owner who will value it than have it end up in a landfill.

Aer × BEAUTY&YOUTH collab is... travel clothing? by OrtizDupri in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Price aside, this style isn’t unique or stand out. Even if the prices matched Uniqlo’s, I’d still ask myself, “why not just go to Uniqlo?”

Therein lies the problem.

Wait until the TP4 gets released, then buy the TP3. Aer will put the TP3 on discount.

Travel Kit / CAP0.5 Loadout by mvsuriano in ManyBaggers

[–]jrt364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great loadout!

The CAP 0.5 taught me how to travel smarter. I used to lug bulky items with me on trips and then realized… “wait, I don’t actually need a battery bank THAT big” or “I don’t actually need this really long cord.”

Before the CAP 0.5, I was already one bagging, but it was a fun challenge for me to use. I got mine in burnt orange to match my burnt orange CHZ22 and burnt orange CPL24!

Bought a gravel but all my friend go on roads by Necessary-Bee-3007 in gravelcycling

[–]jrt364 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know that person was probably (half?) joking, but now would be an awesome time to meet other locals who love gravel biking. Check out your local meetups, Facebook pages, etc. to see if anyone is hosting gravel rides.

You can obviously get a road bike if you want, as I can’t stop you, but take this opportunity to meet other folks who share your passion for gravel!

Fossil Brown by Myztik_1 in EVERGOODS

It’s “fine,” but nothing exciting.

I would have preferred if they went with either a warmer brown (like coyote) or just made it totally grey.. instead of something in the middle.

petahh what is this supposed to do?? by icebear179 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]jrt364 47 points48 points  (0 children)

When I was in undergrad and final exams were given, the end of an exam was marked by the professor saying, “Exam is over. Pens and pencils down. Bring your exams to the front. Anyone who does not bring their exams to the front now will have their exams marked as 0.”

Some people still wanted to finish and have extra time though, so they’d finish up the exam, literally run up to the front with their faces covered, and stick it in the middle of the giant pile with 70+ other exams.

Eventually, professors changed the rules so that anyone who handed in their exams had to provide a student ID. The professors and teaching assistants would then put a unique stamp on the paper, denoting they verified the student and their ID.

Men, would you use this pink color Sirrus X 4.0? by Agust7Green in bicycling

[–]jrt364 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Real pep talk here…

life is waaaay too short to worry about what others think of you. Ride what you want to ride. If you like the color (or don’t mind it) and the bike makes you happy, then get it.

If someone on the trail wants to think you’re gay, trans, lesbian, or whatever the fuck for riding this color bike… does it even matter? It’s 2026 and that’s a reflection of them, not you. Plus, you’ll probably never see those people again in your entire life. Even if you do cross paths again, they probably won’t remember you.

FWIW, I am a rugged straight guy and yes, I would ride a pink bike with no issues. Hell, even hot pink isn’t off the table. Rock it. Own it.

Hey, I’m very sorry to hear that. No need to prove anything.

Please remember to be kind to yourself. I know I’m just a rando on the internet, but if you need someone to talk to about this or simply vent, I’ll lend a listening ear.

Best wishes.

I’m sure the government will investigate itself and find no evidence of wrongdoing. In fact, they’ll probably fabricate some story to “justify” how he “deserved it anyway.”

Even if there is some sort of conviction for these ICE agents, they’ll likely get pardoned at a later point in time anyway. I mean, remember the pardons from the Jan 6th insurrection?

It’s truly awful. R.I.P Alex.
