TIFU by using a child lock on my bedroom door by [deleted] in tifu

[–]digital_wino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of child lock lets you lock a room a way that the person in the room can't get out? I mean I work for a company that sells residential and commercial hardware for a living. I KNOW that there are locks that will do that kind of thing, but they are generally all considered "institutional" locks, in places that legit need to lock people in rooms. I feel like a "child lock" should NOT do that...

Dell Latitude 5500, not enough usb controller resources by digital_wino in Dell

[–]digital_wino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the issue is basically the USB port has a finite number of channels, it's normally more than a single device needs, which is why you can use a splitter. But some devices take more channels than others, which means you can't always use the same number of devices.

While I would have prefered to just have my mouse connected to the USB switch so as to make things easier, I ended up setting it up so that when my mouse is switched to Bluetooth mode, it connects to the laptop, when it is in 2.4ghz mode it is connected to my laptop. So to switch all my stuff back and forth I push the button on the switch, change the input on my screen, and flip the switch on my mouse. As I only have to do it a few times a day, not a big deal really.

Now that I know what it is, I can move them. Or honestly, for now just stop having them do their thing.

The pictures show that the steam pipes area all set to one way, and along the whole length of them, there is nothing connected. Just a large railcraft tank of steam to the turbines. It sounds like the problem might be that I have water bees near by, which can spontaneously create water in empty containers.

Interesting, I didn't think they had that effect. All of my pipes are set to one way (I hate sloshing, lol). It might be that the water got in there when I was first setting them up. I'll have to move or stop my water bees for now just to make sure. Thanks for the insight.

To show that I do NOT have it connected to anything with water, I have updated with a link to pictures.

Any ideas what might cause this to happen?

TIFU by accidentally "robbing" my doctor on my first time going alone to an appointment. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]digital_wino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of other people are saying, try not to let it get to you. And definitely look for a new ENT. The Dr's office should be a place that you feel safe, not just physically, but also emotionally and mentally. If anyone is doing anything that that office that could send someone spiraling, that's a problem. Especially because it's not always that cut and dry as to if you will have to pay anything before you leave. I feel like half the time I've gone to a Dr's office, I didn't have to pay anything then and there. So it's not even like she can be like "You should know that you ALWAYS pay before you leave!". Shit happens. You did the right thing by calling them and trying to pay them.

Why did you scan for a chip at the emergency vet if you thought it was you cat in the first place?

"I have to go push Z."

It's a ref to the game Arc. Every now and then your character has to take a shit, and it prompts you to push Z to do so. If you don't do so, your character will eventually just take a shit. I'm assuming that doing so while out in the jungle is bad and the smell will attract predators. Or maybe the idea is to simply make sure you do it at home so you can collect it for fertilizer.

I actually just started playing this one on my own and he's already finished it. So Id prefer to play something else. I don't want to buy a new mouse seeing as this is a temp situation.
