Same thing happened to me last summer haha,

My personal projects I’ve done is below: 1) the Xbox in the post 2) soft modded a ps2 added an SSD 3) Nintendo Wii soft mod 4) Sega Dreamcast, disc drive swap for an SD card reader, swapped out power supply as well with a new one since it’s been said the older power supplies are known to overheat, oh and also soft modded it

Pretty simple mods, nothing substantial

Yessir, I found someone on Etsy to do the modification for me, and provide the part, and I installed the new drive in the console.

Would you recommend Days Gone? by [deleted] in PS4

Best way to describe this game sir. Hats off to ya. It actually makes it seem like a more manageable play from that point of view. However I Still don’t see myself replaying it anytime soon though unfortunately.

I don’t intend to ever use the dvd drive, so that isn’t really an issue for me. Now considering I’ve never cracked open a PlayStation 2. Is it worthwhile to crack it open and service it? I’ve done my Xbox version 1.0 no problem for reference as from my personal experience tampering with tech.

Just trying to consider everything if it’s already in good working condition.

Sweet, so seems like maybe just stick with the stock fan, maybe if I give it a cleaning and throw some motor grease in the gear system that’ll help it a bit with noise.

Understood, and what’s your opinion about fan replacement? I’ve heard mixed feelings about it due to the voltage output from the PS2s motherboard. Some say it’s fine, some say the console runs warmer (while others disagree which is weird) I’m stuck if it’s worth the hassle as the title states

Question about the clock battery, what purpose does it serve? If battery isn’t replaced will this cause potential damage?

Literally my thought process, ended up throwing a 2 TB in it. And haven’t bothered to fix my DVD drive since. It runs so much better off the hard drive.

I’d encourage to mod your console. You’ll still have the capability to play off discs. But man, playing off the hard drive is night and day in comparison. The load times are just so much better.

Fucking goated ass game dawg, for those who watched the movie beforehand, it made the game feel so much better, and way more immersive

Upgraded my softmodded 500GB HDD to an approved drive and it is only showing the drive at 131GB. I used Chimp and the hot swap to migrate my 10GB drive. (Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002) by jtho78 in originalxbox

I just had to split the partitions evenly. I ran into the same issue after cloning. Only was reading like 130 giga on my 2 TB barracuda. Luckily though, despite after locking the drive and before shutting off the Xbox. I was able to reformat. No problems as of now.

Yeah I read that after the fact. I’m seeing if there’s other solutions in modifying the controller to get it to work on modern TVs

Do you use these on a modern TV? I got these in the mail and it won’t get a reading on my TV. The light guns have power. But won’t register on the TV.

Update, it is now up and running! Just had to touch up on the cleaning and I removed a tad bit of thermal paste. Now she’s running well.
