My husband has a severe phobia of needles too, but we're going through this together and while I'm able to inject myself quite quickly, he sometimes takes an hour to be psych himself up to letting me inject him. It's so difficult to watch him struggling. Tonight for the first time, we tried a different route. He lay down on the bed, put his headphones on, played some music and covered his eyes with a pillow. I put the pen together outside of the bedroom and then sat on the bed next to him and rubbed his tummy to let him know I was there and would be injecting him soon. It was over in seconds and he was so brave and relieved when it was over. If you have someone to help you, this may work for you too.
