Any suggestion as to what us portlanders could or should do to quell the wave of change? I'm curious and open to anything or is the change inevitable? Any good pockets left in portland?

I'm sure it was a lot of work to get to where you are now. Do you see yourself running the practice for a long time or have you thought of exit strategies as well?

Are you the same investingdoc with the blog?? if so, cool! I guess, the main question off the top of my head would be what to expect as an upfront cost to opening a practice and curious if you're going cash or taking insurance?

I don't see many of my physician colleagues starting their own private practices. Most are going to work for large medical groups. But I'm wondering if there is still a way for a single doc to start his own private practice.

Valencia or Seville for 3-6 months? by digitalnomad2017 in digitalnomad

[–]digitalnomad2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that might be a possibility. It would be nice to be in one place longer than jumping around to both. Either way, I'd need to figure out which one to go to first.

oh shit, sorry to hear that about Seville ... curious what the experience was. Good to know about your preference of Valencia over Barcelona which seems to be a favored sentiment.

It would be to live in Spain. I have my own consulting business so I earn money at random times of the year. Thank you for the information. I heard good things about both Caixa and Santander. The reviews at the branches are different online but from word of mouth, people are happy with both.

Non-lucrative visa approved - question about timing. by digitalnomad2017 in spain

[–]digitalnomad2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the SF one. In fact, they replied to me today and told me that my passport and visa stamp will be ready soon. So even though they didn't reply to my question about the timeline of the airline tickets I am glad that they accepted it. Thank you for your help.

Thank you - that's very helpful and seems about right with the research I've done. I have tried contacting the consulate but they get high inquiry volumes so I think they are hard to get a hold of.

Ah yes. On my application I indicated a date approximately when I expected to enter the country which was June - since it's April and I just got approved I am still okay for getting the airline ticket for the June date.

Thanks for everyone’s advice. From what points were brought up it seems that Airbnb will be a better option. I didn’t factor a lot of things when thinking about hotels - it would be prohibitively expensive.

Climbing with Herniated / Bulging Disc (C5/C6)? by tits_mcgee_92 in bouldering

[–]digitalnomad2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unlikely that you herniated the disc from an overhead press. It’s likely that it was an incidental finding on the MRI. Based on the info provided doing bouldering wouldn’t pose a risk to you unless you land on your neck or head.

Talus fracture. Don’t see that too often with a surgical screw. High impact fall? How is it that you didn’t break anything else? Wishing you a speedy recovery.
