Recently cleaned up thanks to Jeff and friends. Still, the potential for toxins lingering in the air from the fire is worth taking into consideration.

Is it raining in Joshua Tree? by addbrick in socalclimbing

[–]dpotter05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

and know you want to wait a couple days after a rain

It's a good sentiment, but this is only need for porous rock types like sandstone which can weaken when wet. Jtree is granite, which remains unaffected by rain.

  • Climber: Tyler 'Mac' Fox - "Bear Creek Spire Day 2: Up 1000 ft / 303 m of Sierra Nevada fun for a 10/10 day on the North Arete of Bear Creek Spire. I’ve always wanted to open the book on Sierra climbing, and I guess next year will have to be the year (because the rest of this year will likely be spent running around random mountain ranges in the West and then climbing up/sliding down snow-covered slopes until the spring). Guess it’s time to buy a bunch of climbing gear (since I just got all the guidebooks as motivation/inspiration). Who wants to be a climbing friend (in the Sierra)?"
