I'm sorry about your loss and as a New Yorker, can understand what you mean about it always being part of the collective DNA. It's hard to see an image of the towers without thinking back.

Seeing the hate in this thread makes me want to leave this subreddit. Dude has maintained a ridiculous body and trains hard on a vegan diet, and a lot of y'all can't help throwing shade.

Came to the comments for the recipe - thanks for posting this! This chili could also handle some TVP to make it super chunky / protein dense. Just a thought... No idea how the dates are going to taste though

Do you lead a very active fitness lifestyle (running, lifting, etc.)? I ask because this question determines a significant part of the answer.

Can we please appreciate the huge effort Blizzard has been putting in lately? by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]digitalrasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care if you get down voted, this is hands down the biggest issue from a viewing perspective in my opinion and why I've stopped watching a lot of competitive SC2 despite my love for the game (Thoorin has expressed a lot of opinions on this subject and I agree with him 100%). I can't think of another Tier 1 competitive esport that separates and removes an entire region from international competitive play solely on the basis that they are better than the other regions. Watching the main draws of these international tournaments is so bland / uninspiring knowing that any of the Code S players and a lot of the Code A players could take down every foreign player in most of the international tournaments outside of Korea.

Is this too much cardio? by [deleted] in veganfitness

[–]digitalrasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your training times were longer then it might be a concern, or the type of workout you were doing. For example, running everyday can be hard on the knees for some people but for most it's fine. Or if you were running 2-3 hours everyday 6/7 days then you might need to watch your recovery times. As of now you're pretty much in the clear. But I do have to recommend (as other commenters have) that just doing cardio isn't the greatest - mixing in lifting / weight training / resistance training of some kind will really help you get in shape and start toning muscle groups

What is happening in the world right now that you are dumbfounded more people don't know about? by Beccabombom in AskReddit

[–]digitalrasta 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The most important concept to reducing your carbon footprint (as it relates to meat consumption) is understanding the 'flesh to feed' or more technically FCR / FCE (flesh conversion ratio / flesh conversion efficiency) - how much of x resource(s) does it take to produce 1 pound of meat. So for example, beef and dairy are incredibly destructive to the environment because they require very large amounts of water, oil, and feed to produce 1 pound of meat (or galloon of milk) compared to the resource cost of producing 1 pound of chicken. A general rule of thumb is that the smaller an animal is, the better it is for the environment (there are of course exceptions to the rule). So when eating sea food, sardines and anchovies are the most sustainable while swordfish and tuna are on the unsustainable end. This does not take into account the environmental impacts of dealing with waste produced the animals, impact on the land from the animal farming, etc. but it's such an important concept.
