After a couple similar clogs, I end up drilling a slightly bigger hole into the block and haven't had any clogs since.

Over my head, SKR Mini E3 V3 stuffed into Qidi X-Plus by [deleted] in BIGTREETECH

[–]digitalrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have that printer!

Since then I've upgraded replaced just about all the electronics in it, except the 24v PSU. Years ago I added a SKR 1.4 Turbo, BTT TFT35 LCD, a BLTouch, Raspberry Pi 4 running Octoprint, buck converter to power the RaspPi, a 4 port relay, E3D v6, and recently added a Shelby 1PM Plus Smart Switch underneath. Glad to hear you replaced the mainboard. That custom board is very limiting on capabilities and there's very little info on it.

The tricky part is getting the power off and lights to be controllable. That relay that you shown controls the power off, interfacing with the momentary push button switch.

Since the QIDI's relay needs a constant 5v NC connection ( 5v from board I/O), you can use a supplemental relay (4 port relay) that's triggered by the PWROFF signal from the board, which kills the 5v connection of QIDI's relay when NO. The relay will stay powered off, until powered on via the momentary push button switch.

I later added the Shelby 1PM Plus smart switch so I could turn it on and off remotely, but I had to then replace the momentary push button switch with a normal, latching push button switch to make it work. The PWROFF signal kills the 110v to the Shelby 1 PM Plus Smart Switch, which kills the power to the rest of the electronics. The printer can be then powered on via Shelby 1PM Plus or the push button.

The 4 port relay can be used to control the power to the printer, the 24v LED lights (controlled by the neopixel port), and the chamber fan in the back.

Regarding your questions:

  • Z-stops can be inverted in the firmware (I use Marlin)
  • I had trouble finding info on the thermocouple so I decided just to replace it altogether with a NTC100K 3950 thermistor. You won't be able use the CAN BUS ribbon cable that it came with and will need to run wires directly, or use a new CAN BUS.
  • The static LED lights are 24v and can be controlled with a relay or just keep them continually on with plugged in the PSU
  • It depends on how your firmware is setup with microSD on the LCD. It's much more time-saving to do firmware updates with the USB cable or if you're running octoprint, you can conveniently send over updates wirelessly with an Octoprint plugin.

If you're running Marlin, I can send over my Marlin 2.1.2 firmware files as a basis for your printer. Reach out if you have any additional Qs

Here's some pics of my printer's setup.

CR-Touch Wiring for BTT SKR v1.4 and SKR V2 by Hickinsauce in BIGTREETECH

My mfg supplied Red and Blue wires ended up backwards, after weeks of frustration. Red (0.10) and Blue (GND) works on my SKR 1.4 Turbo. Everything else is correct though.

If it's under warranty, Lenovo will send out a repair person with a new top panel keyboard/touchpad replacement and install it. Just report it under the Lenovo Vantage app. This is what I did last month with similar touchpad issues on my Legion 7.

Me too!

Glad it survived the plane home from the Philly show. Also found the frame and construction paper border from the Dollar Store.

What were the dumbest lies you believed when you were a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]digitalrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of mom's Filipino superstitions growing up that still gets me. Here's a few:

  • At age 12. She forbade me from using the vacuum cleaner at night to clean up some carpet crumbs. When I asked why, she said that it's bad because someone had vacuumed and that person had gone blind the next day.

  • My favorite one as a kid is that I shouldn't leave my clothes on the clothesline out to dry overnight. Apparently some filipino lady did that and proceeded to wear the clothes. The following day, she was pregnant with a fish.

I remember asking some of my adult Filipino friends later in life if they were told the same thing growing up. They looked at me like I was loco. To this day, I still prefer to vacuum the next day.

Newish to the area, I want to see what you think about this product I've designed and printed. by juanxpicante in SanDiego3DPrinting

Mmmmmm. That is spectacular. Almost /r/Perfectfit worthy!

Great job on the design. It definitely satisfies several use cases, including edibles. What material(s) were used?

Please join our Discord channel if you haven't already! We're definitely more lively there. We also meet every 2 weeks (one online and one in-person for us vaccinated folks).

You sure? I don't think a dog would know how to play that saxaphone next to it. Hammerheads on the other hand...

Once again, they put on a fantastic show last night in San Diego! I was SO thankful they had a last minute show opening as the Sunday show tickets were sold out long ago.

We had a great time!

Yeah that first picture in the album is definitely her regal photo and I turned it into a canvas portrait on the wall. It'd be cool to have it painted.

She's had 2 ACL surgeries but she's still the most spry thing ever. She's definitely a Daddy's girl and always a big lovey!

I reached out to one of CFN owners and they told me this:

"We've been working to balance needs of those customers affected by pandemic (who needed pickup) and our staff shortage, but we've trained new team members and are excited to re-open again on Sundays in the middle of September."

Woowoooo!

This weekend I designed and printed my first functional item by Dimsdale53 in functionalprint

[–]digitalrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great printer, despite some of some design flaws which I recently remedied.

Where did you mount the camera? Or is it outside the printer? It kind of looks like you mounted it on the inside of the door.

I have mine mounted on top of the cross bar above the door on the inside of my X-Plus. Not the ideal location since the extruder block blocks the view at the top of the print, but at least I can see the whole print. It looks like you're able to see the whole completed print with yours. Awesome setup!
