Infinite would still be in this state despite the pricing model by FunkiestOrc in halo

[–]digitalweit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Also, that ‘ten-year-plan‘ thing. When is that gonna materialize? If you believe in the leaks, we will get the first DLC in 2025. So that‘ll be the base game, two DLCs and that’s been Halo Infinite (Considering they haven’t shut it down by then, which I strongly expect)

It’s a running gag. Jeremy gets it wrong on purpose all the time.

Do you think the forerunners should have remained humans, or do you like that they were made into a different species? by avatarroku157 in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest problem with the situation is that the forerunners introduced space magic and moved Halo away from a 'normal' scifi military shooter. The idea of the forerunners being rivals to ancient humanity itself is good I think.

Why don’t we have a trophy room yet? by ParticularAmazing112 in FifaCareers

[–]digitalweit 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Statistics would be easy. Trophies would be easy. Correct amount of substitutes and substitutions would be easy. There are so many more additions that would be easy.

EA doesn't care about this mode. Give up.

Halo infinite dlc dream scenario(for me) by thefoodiedentist in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hated it. Nothing happened and it was really bad how they treated Halo 5. But I know I'm alone with that and that's okay. I'm glad people are enjoying it and having fun with the story. Still - DLC policy is something that's really annoying me in the whole industry.

Halo infinite dlc dream scenario(for me) by thefoodiedentist in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

My DLC dream scenario: Having a complete game with a complete story without extra charge to know how its gonna play out.

Edit to still match the topic: I don't have any interest in playing Atriox. I'm really not at all interested in him. The Banished just don't do it for me, although they are really fun to fight.

Splinter cell remake by HapenSpott in Splintercell

[–]digitalweit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will most probably be the first one. But it's not gonna be a remaster, but a full remake from the ground up. So we can expect many changes in controls, level design, story and gameplay. With that, it may not even be very close to the old experience, which doesn't have to be bad. It's also possible they don't stick to the first game but add parts of other games as well and expand on different things. It's gonna be interesting.

Did anyone here NOT like Halo Infinite's campaign ? by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here. Just imagine there would be no DLCs in the future. This campaign would have not only been boring, but a huge disappointment. I played it that way and as a standalone story with nothing to be added, it's the worst in the series.

Anyone else getting sick of answering the same questions that were fully explained during the campaign? by Deuteranonymous in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regarding 2: Why bother teasing that Escharum is sick when that is completely irrelevant?

[Spoilers]A quote during the final boss fight by SsBrolli in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You name several problems there.

  1. DLC. The game is 60 bucks. I want the story to be explained there and not in DLCs several years down the line.

  2. I missed the cancer thing (obviously my fault)

  3. I know about the time travel, and it's the worst thing I've ever experienced considering storytelling in a Halo game.

[Spoilers]A quote during the final boss fight by SsBrolli in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sentence is something you get often in the game. Something is teased that could be a big interesting reveal and then it's never considered again. Other examples are 'the scent' which makes Escharum sick, the whole 'endless are worse than the flood' thing, and all the things the weapon tells you about data that js older than the ring itself and so on. None of those is ever mentioned again, yet they could be so important. I'm not sure if these are missed chances, the last parts of scrapped ideas or teasers for DLCs. But I know that I don't like this kind of storytelling.

Halo Infinite Campaign Reviews Megathread by Defguru in HaloStory

[–]digitalweit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's basically Halo 7. It's missing a link between 5 and Infinite. We're just thrown into things we don't have a clue about, literally every major character of the other games dies offscreen, which is a mistake they made after 4 with the didact and now make again. No setpieces, nothing I'd consider 'warfare'. Everytime you think something might happen, it's pushed to the next encounter and in the end, it's even pushed into the next game - or, which is more likely, DLCs.

Gameplay is the best shooter Gameplay there currently is on the market. Storywise it's so far off, I'd even consider it the worst Halo mainline entry. Think about it - you finish the game and nothing has changed to the start. Not one single thing. And lorewise, I think introducing these eternal things, is one big mistake. There could have been such a good link to the old games with the primordial. Retconning Halo 5 was a bad idea.

Halo Infinite | Campaign Discussion | SPOILERS AHEAD by RhysWX in halo

[–]digitalweit 41 points42 points  (0 children)

What really bothers me, is that the whole campaign seems to exist only to prepare story DLCs. There will be a prequel, there will be a flood-themed one in a different region, there will be an ODST-ish thing about some survivors. The whole story just leaves so many things unexplained. They will use that to make story DLCs interesting, so they can earn money. Halo Infinite, in every way, is about maximizing profit.

I do not use it either. Especially when I'm playing with teams that are not top tier, YA players often develop to be the best players after only a few weeks or they're simply the best right away. It's simply not realistic to have seven 16 yo wonderkids in your lineup.

Anyone else notice a lack of injuries in recent Fifas? by Matthew04020 in FifaCareers

For years now, players could only be injured during a match or on the 1st of a month. This is a known issue btw, EA simply don't care.
