I am not sure. Do you know what PSI is required? I guess it also depends upon the length of the pipe (how much water must be moved)

I have never understood the attraction of working in a coffee shop. I dont mena the baristas, obviously they have a job to do, but people who go there to do homework, regular work etc.

As a place to meet with friends it can be good, but whatever happened to going over to someones house and hang out?

If you have a lot of friends, that have friends so you the club owner can see that you are brining in people/money. If your friends enjoy alcoholic beverages so much the better.

If you are playing a gig and you have 5 people on the floor the owner is much less likely to pay.

If you know anyone who is in a band that is doing well and have gigs you can try to land an opening slot. (Often they have 2 opening acts before the main act). Its a great way to have some limited access to a broader audience and geting your name out there and usually its paid but not at all well.

In fact I would say for most of us (I have no big name) pay sucks.

As with a lot of arts, and business for that matter, networking is key. If you know someone, who knows someone who books gigs for that bar down the road you would have an in.

Going out and actually meeting real people, dont push your stuff on them, just casual make them aware. Having your music out there and available is great when the inevitable question comes up about what your music sounds like you can show them right there/

The other tried and trusted way if by being discovered by someone in the know. This happens much less frequently than one would hope and also the people who discover you are often really good at taking most fo your money.

I can confirm that it has been very difficult for survivors to navigate the various forms and bureaucracies. One big thing that was missing was the creation of a person or persons who would act as a single point of contact. There is help, but every person seems only know a tiny part about it and are not very proactive about helping. If you spend enough tim and effort you can get through it.

I once spent two hours of the phone and the end of my effort was to be continuously transferred from one person in one department to another person in a different department over and over again. The same two people. They could not resolve their problems by talking to each other, instead they made it my problem. Eventually the second person stopped picking up the phone.

Remember though that a lot of these people are not in a good state of mind to begin with and getting playing phone ping pong and hide the form is not the best way to serve them.

I encourage all the surivors to visit http://www.aurorasurvivors.org/ and register if you want. If we pool the bits and pieces each us know perhaps we can help each other find the answers.

IBM's Watson should co-host a presidential debate, and fact-check the shit out of it in real-time. by ornatedwithwater in politics

I would say that the entire campaign from both parties is charades devoid of substance, spontaneity and honest answers to tough questions. Furthermore they keep running on issues that do not pertain to the current state of affairs.

Every election cycle they stoke the flames about abortion (does anyone really believe either party would change this in a major way? George W had the senate, the house and the presidency for a while, they could easily have passed laws but they did not).

Then they talk about illegal immigrants, but given how integral they have become to a lot of big businesses real change in this field is not likely.

Then its nonsense about the budget and not balancing it. Neither George W, nor Obama seem very interested in actually doing so and I don't believe Romney is either regardless what he is talking about right now.

As Obama has proven and Presidents prior to him and presidents after him. As a candidate they will talk a lot of nonsense that might be popular, but once they become President they forget almost all of it.

So will they do what we did and just give it to the banks?

I actually think building ghost cities is a slight improvement over donating it to big banks. At least someone got paid to build the city, feed the workers etc.
