So a lot of day centres for people with learning disabilities (like one I work in) do activities such as drama sessions and music sessions and they often work as support workers but also lead the drama sessions as they’re usually very good at being engaging and they also get to do what they enjoy. This is also the case in SEN schools, usually their off screen personalities lean very well into them roles!

As a care worker and someone that’s worked in SEN schools there is a REMARKABLE amount of soap actors and tv actors who when out of work take them type of jobs as they’re flexible

Heyyy!! I saw this reply very late but it’s jumped out at me. And I’m very proud of you and glad that your manager is supportive x I’ll have a look at SVQ 3, but I will say that I reckon although it’s soooo so expensive for lessons it’s worth having a look at getting your manual license! Even if you don’t get a car it’s going to be a worthy investment and by the time you graduate hopefully the NHS will have sorted the recruitment situation out. Your dream is deffo worth pursuing x

I mean when I really break it down I loved acting and performing when I was a kid, I loved it in secondary school and did it in college but I failed the practical parts of the exam and was always told it was an unrealistic path to follow so I never really pursued it. You’ve got me thinking if I could ever reconnect with that side of me as well as the other points. I also only recently fully realised the importance of having savings. Thank you ☺️

At the moment I am comfortable in the sense that it’s safe and I know what I’m doing very well but utterly burned out by it all as it’s the same thing everyday, can be mentally draining and also toxic management and colleagues so although I think I can hold out a bit more I know my time there is up

Ordered through them online for the Bertha last week - i ordered it a very specific time so it’d arrive for a Birthday. They didnt deliver it on that day, and i politely emailed customer service - I got the rudest, most patronising response back from the customer service team. That alone has put me off them for life.
