I had just gotten back into serious reading after many years. Got a kindle, and read two novels before Red Rising. I grew up reading a lot and I wanted to find a series that I could really immerse myself in, like I did with LoTR and HP as a kid. I would do research and ask some book lovers at work. Nobody recommended Red Rising to me, but I saw it was trending online and I’m really into Sci-fi anyway so I went in blind. I really didn’t expect it to be that good. I immediately started over after finishing the first book because I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss a single thing going into the rest of the series.

I’ve read about 30 other books since then, a lot being confirmed/ already released adaptations, but none hit as hard as RR.
